Meet our mysterious, sexy and groundbreaking queer artist Thomas Costantin!

Thomas Costantin, DJ and sound/visual artist currently based in Milan. Since 2014, he is the resident DJ at the historic Plastic Club. He is a music consultant for numerous high-end fashion houses. His cosmopolitan soul has a deep attraction not only for music, but also for cinema, costume, analogue photography, vintage atmospheres and technicolor. 

The liveliness of Red is the color that best represents his work: intense, energetic, deep.


*What pushed you towards music production? Where did the inspiration come from?

When I started to produce, around 2018, I was listening to more or less 12 hours of music every day, playing 3 or 4 nights every week. I was thinking that I also wanted other people to listen to my music, to create something new to share with my community.

* Do you think music interconnects with culture?  How does the environment you live in affect your music?

Yes, absolutely. Especially nowadays music is really melted with all the rest of art and cultures. I see music as the perfect way to express, also images and ideas.
Music and life are super connected. I am really inspired by people. My friends and other artists really help me in my endless music research. I am attracted to the different mixes of cultures in music. 

* Do you get inspired by any other form of art?

Sure, I love to paint also, especially with water colors. I love cinema, especially the vintage ones and I’m used to working with images, actually I see myself sometimes more as a multidisciplinary creative director than just as a music artist.

* What makes a set a good one?

The selection of the tracks. Technique is also important, but I think it is nothing without a good selection. When you play music you also play with emotions.

* What’s the process you follow when bringing tunes together? Is it instinctive only or do you plan ahead?

It is quite instinctive but I also work every day on archives and on folders in my computer. I play lots of different sets, with different sounds and vibes, for different crowds, so I absolutely need discipline and order.

* What would you like to say about your podcast?

I am very happy to share this set. It was a very special night with the Kanto family in one of my favorite cities, which actually is Paris. Honestly, I can’t wait to play with them all together!

Ninze & Okaxy's set for Getting Deeper is truly a gorgeous piece of sonic extravagance. It feels like the set is inspired by a beautiful but bittersweet love story in an old, exotic setting. It transports you to the abstract, delicate, profound and voluptuously wordless space between  definitions. It represents the inexplicable, commonly known as the grey area- of which life is mostly made of and something that only art has the power to represent so beautifully. That's why we have films, artworks, architecture, novels... and of course... music. 

It is only when you get really deep that you are able to capture these delicate moments. It takes an intelligent mind and lots of honesty and courage to be able to explore those dark spaces. Feels like Ninze & Okaxy have bathed themselves in these deep moments and created something aurally beautiful out of them. The end result - this set and their music - is a mesmeric, mysterious and absolutely show shopping package of intoxicating melodies. 

What you will get, when you open this package, is some dusty jazz wrapped in warm beats together with a lot of intricate melodic goodness. They have chosen exceptional tracks and tied them together in such a way that you really won't feel that there are individual tracks at all in the set. And that makes the set timeless. Time frames within the set are subtle, giving it a wholesome and grandiose character. It's a film translated into music.

Ramon, wie er mit bürgerlichem Namen heisst, war früher mehrere Jahren mit dem Artistname Wunderkind in den Clubs vertreten, präsentiert mit Zwillingsmann (Live/DJ) sein deeperes DJ-Alter-Ego. Deep, einfühlsam, abwechslungsreich, verträumt und weltoffen, so beschreibt er selber seine Zwillingsmann-Sets. Dieser neue Sound entstand zum ersten Mal für ein intimes Open Air, fand dann aber sehr schnell den Weg in die Clubs. Musik, die sowohl für frühe Abend- oder frühe Morgenstunden passt, als auch zur Maintime mit etwas treibenderem Grundton.
Seit neuerem ist Ramon auch mit seinem dritten Pseudonym "Biene Maja" anzutreffen (DJ). Stay tuned!
