Baile funk is going global right now, so we dove deep into the history of the Afro-Brazilian sound, culture and political movement with a special episode of SWITCH. It's the first in our new Club World series, where we'll tap into genres we love to blend up on the decks every week at FBi Radio but rarely get a chance to zoom in on.

We're joined by Brazilian DJs and event curators who are pushing baile funk into the future, Western producers whose viral soundcloud edits have caught the world's attention, and local scene stalwarts who've seen funk's rise over the last two decades. Thrilled to release the first single from our upcoming debut EP “From Erbil to Amsterdam”. The single “Chopi Riddim” is our first glimpse of the new EP and is named after the traditional Kurdish dance. This dance is often performed at weddings, side by side, shoulder to shoulder, symbolizing community and mutual support.
