In 2008, producers Nickodemus & Quantic were moving around producing music in NYC, Cali, Colombia & Puerto Rico. Some of the fruits of those travels resulted in the hit track “Mi Swing es Tropical,” Quantic’s LP 'Combo Barbaro,' and many more. Somewhere in these sessions was this unreleased track, “Calinda” from the 'Sun People' sessions which came out on a limited 7” but never digitally. A digital-exclusive bonus track to the 15th anniversary of Nickodemus' critically acclaimed LP 'Sun People.'

"Guinea Congo" is first single from Lagartijeando's upcoming album '7 Caminos'. The track features reggaeton style drums, funky percussion, Afrobeat style horns, 70s-inspired keyboard melodies with gentle background vocals from Lagartijeando himself. The tune showcases his innate knack for combining disparate elements into tracks that cohesively work together, culling influences from African, Afro-Brazilian, Caribbean, and 1970's funk music into something natural and danceable.

The 2nd song to be remixed from Nickodemus’ Soul and Science album is “La Noche” featuring Antonio Lizana on vocals. The remix comes from Australian guitarist & electronic producer Paul A. George who just released a beautiful deep dub electronic flamenco inspired album on the Turntables on the Hudson label. In the midtempo 105 bpm zone winding the hips with a dance-hall reggae beat, synths & faint flamenco guitar riffs, Paul takes the original deeper in the club with sparse elements of the vocals for a moody late night mix.

"La Rumba Konpa" is an Afro house track inspired by Haitian konpa with a Congolese twist by Drummer & producer Modrums in collaboration with Yohni Loboko of the band Loboko (NYCT) on guitar, synths and lead vocals. It's their 1st release of more to come.

ZZK Records is proud to announce the long-awaited return of Tremor. Pioneers in mixing Latin American folklore with sound experimentation, the band have been going strong for over a decade, and they’re back with the release of the “Ave Reina Mora” EP: delicate, introspective and psychedelic. 

Leo Martinelli, Camilo Carabajal and Gerardo Farez surprise us again with another cut that rejects any kind of formula, exploring an innovative, sophisticated musical universe with highly visual and simulating compositions. There is a playfulness that runs throughout the record, evoking an interstellar lullaby, inspired by the fact that three members of the group had kids almost at the same time during the band’s hiatus. The project’s evolution can be seen in the renewal of a material that is still very much their own sound but one that takes on a new layer of sensitivity, perfectly balancing experimentation with charm. 

Once again Andrés Oddone is on the mixing desk while Sebastián Cordovés takes care of the mastering. Leo Martinelli takes the lead vocals on the five songs that make up this release. The cover art is by the talented Gisela Faure, capturing and summing up the theme of the record: a delicate organic and digital collage.
