Earthly Measures' second vinyl release of the year sees them team up with the talented & mystical producer & multi-instrumentalist Sidirum - bringing you Balearic & Downtempo flavours from Argentina - sounds that haven’t always been associated with his style. An EP that fills you with euphoria & nostalgia, trying to find those sounds that can take you to another time just by listening to them - as he puts it, "rhythms from the past".

For Sidirum this release is about the beauty of chance. Samples that he has found from near & far over many years of producing finally find a home. 'Donde' in particular is a special track, he says "it is the track where I found my voice again. I have not used it in a song for almost 10 years." 'Ex-Plane' is heavily influenced by his love for Reggae, which runs throughout the whole track. 'Total Interior' is a perfect dance-floor ready track - with the help of multi-instrumentalist Pedro Alvide, the track builds a musical progression that dives into perfect sunset vibes with uplifting energy - ready for a peak time festival set.

After a number of other releases, 'Iris' is an EP where Sidirum feels that he has finally found himself again musically. In a way it's a summary of the places he’s been in the past, intertwined with his ideas in the present, making for a truly unique & pleasant listening experience.

ZZK Records Presents Indus – “Alfa Indi”

A prayer from the Colombian Caribbean to the cosmos.

Alpha Indi is the brightest star on Indus, the southern constellation from which the band takes its name. It is also the first single from the group’s new album Negra, coming on June 21st on ZZK Records. 
The song fuses the classic Indus acid astral synth sounds with the ancestral song of the maestra Nelda Piña, a traditional Caribbean folklore singer who recorded many major records in the 1980s and 90s. The song focuses on a traditional rhythm of Colombian Caribbean drums called chalupa, performed in the percussion hotbed of Gamero, a village in Bolívar province in northern Colombia with a huge musical tradition, which has also given the world folklore figures like Irene Martinez and 2018 Grammy winner Magin Diaz. 
“Alfa Indi” immerses us in the depths of the Caribbean region, its beliefs, spirits and trances. It is a journey through sounds that transports us from the essence of folklore sound to the mystical beats of electronic music. 
The music video was made by audiovisual producer CRACK and portrays the story of four astral beings who land on Earth, meet each other and are guided by the great spirit in a quest to understand life and human elements such as music and spirituality. 

Negra will be out on vinyl and all digital platforms on June 21st, 2024.

At one of many house parties in an old flat in Antwerp a plan was hatched in all secrecy. The concept was to establish an audio-visual collective dedicated to Neo Classical Electronica, seamlessly blending captivating visuals with the electronic symphony. They crafted a whole library of songs, cementing a defining sound for the collective and resulting in a journey of 5 tracks that would make up their debut on Moodfamily. With compelling chords, robust sound design, intricate grooves and a deep understanding of their surroundings, they played their cards just right. 
A watery stream of pixels flows through lush forests, a vague appearance of glitched out landscapes somehow sound comforting. All the while, their subs scrape the paint from the ceiling. 
The journey is the destination. And VNVD (Dutch acronym for evening), understands.

About this edit :
Three years ago, I finally reached my Canadian home after spending the first four months of the pandemic in Brazil. While I was happy to return home, Brazilian culture had left a deep cut in my heart. Upon my return, It felt natural to edit this track as a tribute to the culture that had brought me so much.

I began this edit three years ago but lost track of it. Recently, while cleaning up files and backups after changing my CPU, I stumbled upon this dusty old project. Struck by its simplicity and uplifting energy, I decided to finish it immediately, just in time for summer. Enjoy! 🙂

Nigan quickly makes a good impression with the local crowd DJing at different festivals and parties. 2020 welcomes his first original track a collab with international artist Dunwich (half of xique xique another collab-remix with Soul of Zoo follows on shango records. On the promoting side of things bookings like Xique Xique, MoM, Barrio Lindo, Nathan Hall and Thomas Von Party helped Nigan in making international connection and brings him to work with far away festivals like the Voodoo Hop in Brazil and Festival Nomade in Patagonia.
