GURU could freestyle with them best of them, collaborate with the rest of ‘em
Brought together the best unknown jazz legends of his time, 
And singlehandedly built a generational bridge connecting be-bop to rap,

This is a real controversial song about stuff like how women should receive equal pay for equal work and hold at least 50% of all decision-making positions of power and how strippers should get mandatory health benefits and all women should have the right to make their own reproductive choices without perpetual government intervention.  Really, though, I just wrote it to get laid.

Toward A Season

This is a song I wrote that is not the re-telling of an actual experience.  It takes from snippets of real experience and tells a fictional story of a love that is on the wane and two people in a relationship who can't seem to garner the guts to speak the truth that is being revealed to them by way of their interpretation of scrabble poetry.  What is scrabble poetry, you might ask?  Scrabble poetry involves the phenomenon of reading phrases and meaning into the random spelling of words on a scrabble board.  It's probably more like scrabble oujia board, foretelling the subtext of a story that foreshadows mutual comprehension of a relationship situation that is losing its will to fight, if not its level of scrabble competitiveness.  But again, and I can't stress this enough, it's not a real relating of actual events.

The Ayes of March (Russell Sprouts V. Rudy Begga brainsploder uber-mix)

I wrote this track before my home state of Iowa became a same-sex marriage legalization state, from California, where I was living, in a state that had at the time turned down its most recent attempt at marriage equality. Conservatives were talking about the sacred "institution of marriage" and this was my musical attempt to support the "institution of love."  It's as amorphous and experimental as any of my offerings, so I knew it wouldn't be a club banger.  But it's what I had to offer, and as Pride month is waning down, I decided to make it public for the first time since I posted it on Myspace back when that was still a thing.  Listen.  Enjoy.  Or don't enjoy.  But please get active because the fight for full LGBTQIA equality is far from over.
