There's a fungus, and it waits for you.
Massospora cicadina puts spores in the soil that your nymphs will crawl through.
Some of them will become infected, and it's bad news for them.
You don't want to be them.

You see their butts will fall off, and be replaced with spores.
Their entire abdomen: nothing but a spore plug; it's gross!
And they'll try to mate with you, 'cuz the fungus tells them they have to.
They'll fill you with the spores if you let 'em!
And then you'll be one, too!
