Kollektiv Turmstrasse releases new EP, YAP, on 1st July. The 3-track-release marks the first new material since 2019, presenting an ever-evolving sound that channels the legacy of the artist’s dancefloor savvy roots combined with a playful exploration of the lighter sides of house and techno.

Kolllektiv Turmstrasse steers into unexplored sonic territory and an introspective space with this new EP. Meticulous production skills combined with a soulful joy shine through with opening track, “YAP”. The track is a celebration of the pure and euphoric feelings human beings develop for one another (“You Are Perfect”), and demands the listener shimmies, shakes and forgets the outside world. The track starts on a methodical and hypnotic trajectory until vocals, synths, snares and hi-hats fly in from all angles to create a mosaic of grooving sound. Kollektiv Turmstrasse has a knack for blending multiple genres in one track, and the R&B vocals adding an unexpected garage flavour. With “YAP”, Kollektiv Turmstrasse creates a musical alchemy, occupying that dreamy space between evolution and nostalgia.

“I’m OK” plays with the limits and edges of house and minimal, combining 4:4 rhythms with scattered synths and sharp vocals. The track explores our tendency to create facades to cover our inner turmoil, reflected through builds and drops that add tension and texture, while giving a packed out dance floor no choice but to move.

Of course Thomas Stieler is above all a DJ at heart it‘s his passion. This has clearly been on display since 2005 with an open-hearted, development- adorned definition of electro-acoustic sonic design.
His gift is in his ability to present his vision of technoid joi de vivre and house- flavored hip swing with a taste of the galant to the audience. He‘s not thirsty for the fleeting notoriety and peak time nonsense. Rather, for him it has everything to do with the sustainable potency of the celebration of house and techno. He comes as a noted, universal „weapon“ for those special thoughtful moments of the celebration. From an idylic beginning in Saalfeld, Thomas Stieler is convin- ced that his hometown has more to offer than merely fine chocolate, manufac- turing and elaborate caves...
In the region (and in the meantime, throughout many regions) he enjoys inargu- ably an official nimbus when it comes to quality management in regards to club design. This is put on display weekend for weekend as he puts his agility as an activist in front of and behind the office. Along with his own sonic fabrications, these are indeed worth much more than merely a Soundcloud patron leaving a positive comment.
Thomas is an authentic ‚convincer‘ in the electronic experience, infected by a pionier spirit and the yearning for the perfect groove on the decks, in the air and on the sea...

Endian Boiler Room Bristol DJ Set

Joining us this month is one of the most consistent producers around at the moment. In the past six years Alex has been releasing exciting material through local Stockholm labels such as Abdulla Rashim's Northern Electronics, Bossmuik, and Aniara Records which put out his first record back in 2010. Aniara Records is also responsible for putting out the majority of his output as one half of Genius Of Time, the irresistible DJ/Live act he formed with his good friend Nils Krogh but the duo's punchy releases also found a home on Clone's Royal Oak and Gerd Janson's Running Back. The past two years have seen him focusing primarily on his solo output as Dorisburg and his most ambitious project to date arrived earlier this year on John Talobot's Hivern Discs in the form of the Irrbloss LP.

Today he's prepared a very special mix of mysterious and rare hypnotic House cuts which he recorded straight to cassette through a studio console and analogue outboard. He told us the mix is for "late night internet exploring...something to get lost within while browsing the unknown corners of the web... or possibly what a rave could sound like on an abandoned space station".
