The song alongside it's music video is supposed to depict the multiple different voices one hears when experiencing feelings such as anxiety or stress and the process of attempting to rid those feelings through unhealthy means. In some way or another it is a battle you will lose.

Overcoming the relationships that were slowly poisoning him and pouring out the remainder proved the only way to move past, and sever this toxic bond.
