Ioannis Karapostolis, in art https://soundcloud.com/tenebralcortex, born and raised under the sun in Greece, is now studying in France. He started creating electronic music around 2011 as he needed some drum patterns to accompany his music (at the time he was really into playing the electric guitar), but once he realized what could be made with a DAW he ditched the guitar and fed his creative craving exclusively with it. 

From there on he started working on a darkpsy project called "Sound Curious" where he explored the possibilities of psychedelic sounds, contributing to some compilations and taking part in a few events in Europe. One thing he really enjoyed while making tracks was the weird break-like parts to variate from the 4 on the floor rhythmic, so much actually that at some point he started making whole tracks that escaped the norms of that genre. Around 2017, the need to escape from the normative rhythmic became more evident, and during that period he got in touch with the "https://soundcloud.com/minutelessrecordings" collective, who encouraged him to make more tracks under that abstract guise. 
All this culminated into the creation of "Tenebral Cortex"

What was a crucial sound experience in your life?
Probably meeting Qebrus at his place over a weekend in northern France. Somewhat of a lifechanging event I'll cherish until my memory permits it.

For this week show, I am super excited to welcome one of the finest and most promising talents Barreiro has to offer at the moment, José Veiga aka ZZY.
Musician and electronic producer recently released "Asylum" on his label, where already has put together three other unique and immersive works. 
He explores a more experimental, abstract and minimalist side of electronic music with a vast range of influences that go from ambient, experimental or more bass soundscapes.
He is also half of the duo Lunnar Lhamas together with George Silver.
Exclusively for the Nightshift, he has put together an amazing hybrid set that includes unreleased work, creating a degree of texture and richness that is just delightful.

After a three-year hiatus, Mindwaves Music awakens from hibernation and is rebooting with a brand new compilation called “Pnyø”.
Eleven exclusive and previously unreleased tracks, carefully chosen by the labels in-house artist Matilde Møller aka P(h)onyCat, merging between genres such as Ambient, Electronica, Leftfield, IDM and Glitch.

The selected tunes may be diverse in tempo and timbre, but the underlying feeling is melancholic, and imaginative - poetic and delicate. 
Even if "Pnyø" could be characterized as peculiar in part, instead of opting for the obvious straightforward expression, the release comes in an overall laid back vibe, which was compiled for your listening pleasure at home.
