OPOLOPO has delivered his renowned magical touch on this remix of the slick, sultry 1978 disco masterpiece by D.C. LaRue.

The original track was a sure-fire floor filler for djs in 1978 and stamped D.C. LaRue's first collaboration with Casablanca records and the legendary disco producer, the late Bob Esty.

The track features on the platinum selling soundtrack to the movie "Thank God it's Friday", a humorous insight into the goings on of a fictional disco club in LA and features Donna Summer and a young Jeff Goldblum.

From the Rhodes style piano that opens the track, to the exotic Indian flute, DJ Mark Brickman's remix captures the entire spirit of the 1977 original. Bringing a hint of turntable to proceedings around the halfway point, Marks reimagining of the track perfectly blends the classic with the nu.

Natasha Kitty Katt's remix hits the ground groovin' with the killer percussion, before weaving in a slinky arp that filters up and down your body, sending DC La Rue's sultry vocals soaring across the dancefloor to Love you up and carry you away.

The Knutsens have done their homework on this one. Rejigging the elements into yet another arrangement of the hands in the air masterpiece by DC La rue. Vocals and horns stamp their entrance, before the beckoning call of "All I need is Love" brings the sing-along moment in the track. A true throwback that runs the gamut of good vibes.

"D.C. Larue asks us, "Do you get what you pay for?" We most certainly do--and then some--with this funky 3-tracker. All 3 remixers brought their A-games to the project. The Mark Brickman remix jumps straight into the story-telling of D.C. Larue and while there is a definite clap and bump to this groover, the build is deliciously slow and evolving. 

The Knutsens (AKA the gents behind Only Good Vibes) lead with the hand percussion for a funky stepper that leans heavily into the bassline, clavinette, and horns for a very satisfying 60's jam-band sound on the more organic side of things. 

Natasha Kitty Katt closes out strong with scintillating spaced-out synths that gently tickle the brain, allowing the verses to become a meditation on all of the familiar ways in which love can be expressed. The only problem with this release? Trying to decide which will be your favorite version with each having its right place in a set and on the dancefloor."

While Chicago is certainly the birthplace of House music, Milwaukee can also lay claim to House history, specifically the French flavor. Debuting in North America in 1996, Daft Punk played their first States side show in Milwaukee, a detail clavette has never gone a day without reminding himself. clavette, the Milwaukee native and LA based DJ & producer, has built his career on the fact that big things can start from humble beginnings. 

Relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, clavette deeply steeped himself into the music industry, working on projects for major recordings artists such as Baby Jake, as well as high profile composing clients like Chanel, Ray Ban, Nike, and Tidal. An avid French House-head, clavette started the moniker end of 2019, tirelessly preparing his sound in his home studio, using the influences of artists like DJ Falcon, Alan Braxe, and Le Knight Club of the late 90’s and early 2000’s French House scene as his guiding light.

Fast forward 2021, clavette has made quite the name for himself in only a short amount of time, blending sounds of Disco and French House with conviction. clavette has already garnered the attention of industry heavyweights like Diplo, Mark Knight, and Roger Sanchez via BBC Radio 1, Sirius XM, and KISSFM UK. Showing his foundations are rooted firmly in the traditions and history of House music, clavette aims to add his unique voice to the conversation in what he calls “French House Revival.” Having debuted a guest mix for prestigious Radio FG, as well as scoring multiple Genre Top 10 positions on Beatport and Traxsource via his releases with Toolroom Trax, Simma Black, and Deep Root Records, clavette is poised to make big strides in the coming year and beyond.

Their producer got opportunity to live in NY for eight years in 1980s and 2010s, and he went to around 500 music live concerts. Especially in late 80s, he experienced creative music beyond genres, and he fell in love with groove music. Swiss musical mastermind Christian Beat Hirt has been a constant force in the music industry since the 90s. A globally renowned producer and label owner, he launched his Me & My Toothbrush alias in 2013. Dedicating this project to disco and new funk, he fused together organic guitar sounds with analog synths, resulting in a fresh & clean musical blend (giving listeners that real toothbrush feel!) Our heroes, feeling satisfied to have spread the glitter over planet earth as per the mission brief, are expecting their ship to be drawn into the localizer glide slope and brought down into the capital city of Fractal to a heroes welcome after weeks of interstellar flight.

But the planet doesn't seem to be pulling their craft into its gravity. instead it's repelling them further away towards the dark star. 

They realise that they'll need to use the ships upgraded sine boosters to wiggle through the atmosphere and counteract the rogue frequencies that are unusually emanating from Planet Discopia.

Something isn't right with the planet!

The mission they had been sent on had been a success, the quartz had been sprinkled over Africa and Europe, as per the timing chart. The target light had also been calculated by the Vector elder himself. One of the last of his kind. A people almost wholly blind, but able to hear the high-frequency spectrum of light as sound.

Hopefully he is ok.

Nonetheless the heroes had been given a gift from the people of earth. A modification to the ship by way of a sub bass booster. Primitive by Discopian standards, but powered by vacuum valves that seemed to stay stable in the situation they found themselves in.

Crash landing in the cryovolcanic ice fields the heroes found themselves bewildered and struggling to keep their own internal sense of rhythm.

Again they looked to elements that they had salvaged from earth. The previously unbeknownst topaz started to darken as they made their way across the landscape and the granite samples slowly started to lose their radioactivity as they made their way towards Fractal city. 

Any major Discopian family would always hand down a velocity suit as the elders ebbed away. These suits were part of the heritage, and although the suits could give specific readouts of funk and groove, the younger generations were mostly just using the flashing oscilloscopes on the arms whilst inventing new dance moves.

The heroes were able to use these scanners to discern, to their horror that a fibrillated rhythm was the only waveshape showing up in any direction.

Then suddenly! The problem became crystal clear. Glitterbots, in unprecedented numbers! Could this mean that Emperor Needlefingers had returned to the planet in their absence? What had become of their fellow Discopians? Only time will tell if our heroes can save the day once again….

AFTER A LIFETIME on the dance floor, you realize that escape to a beat was not the only thing you found there. Sometimes, and surprisingly soon, you may find self-awareness, challenge, enlightenment. Therein lies a core truth about the timelessness of music, and particularly the music of D.C. LaRue. After two years of art school studying graphic design, LaRue joined the music industry by recording two top 40 pop records influenced by the teen-idol era. In his early adulthood, he began writing songs about the fast-growing club and bar subculture he frequented where the most outcast of society’s young and marginalized could safely congregate after being ostracized in work, church, school, and often family. In this relatively brief selection of LaRue classics, contemporary remixes paradoxically bring out the timelessness of his songs, in tone, message and musicality.

“Indiscreet” alone, from LaRue’s 1976 concept album, “The Tea Dance,” tells much of the story about how disco had already birthed its own far more popular and influential successor form, Hip-Hop, by the time it was declared dead by the superannuated establishments of the radio, media and record businesses. Released in a highly limited, personally inscribed 12-inch 45 rpm edition for a select list of top disco DJs, its complex, elastic polyrhythm made it as irresistible to younger black DJs and breakdancing teens as any of the year’s other big street breakouts, like Ralph MacDonald’s “Jam on the Groove.” Or to a teenage record collector, anything by the R&B band Rufus. The clean, uncluttered remixes here, with their sturdy and un-hectic four-four pulse, put focus on the overlap between the first-call studio musicians of LaRue’s albums and the stellar east and west coast studio session lineups of Gregg Diamond, Ashford and Simpson, Barry White, Stuff, and other diverse creatives of Latin disco and soul-jazz fusion.

But, wait, there’s more! “Let Them Dance,” greeted in its time as a one of the breakthrough moments of new music technology, is reinterpreted mainly with its live acoustic tracks, also retaining bright, rhythmic synthesizer hooks with results that are still true to his intentionally oblique lyric, a novelistic portrayal of the drug dealers, the LGBTQ+ underground community, and the powerful upper class elite that made up the multi-racial, socially integrated crowds on the dance floors at the height of disco. “Do You Want the Real Thing,” also “updated” in the style of the lush yet sharp Motown and Philadelphia production pieces that inspired the arrangement originally, still resonates as a nightly inner dialogue or negotiation, another of LaRue’s literary signatures.

How did that happen?” discussing a timeless and universal work that bravely confronted the raw and troublesome inner feelings and vulnerabilities of the songwriters. Play this record and you will feel exactly how disco gave refuge, healing and community to the most marginalized, and immediately welcomed in absolutely everyone else, even the ruling class, and thereby proved again that in art, national cuisine, fashion and every cultural and creative endeavor, it’s the most outcast of every nationality and generation that feeds, clothes, entertains and inspires the larger society that cast them out in the first place.

Dr Packer is an alias of West Australian DJ/Producer 'Greg Packer' set up for Remixes & Edits of mainly retro music such as 70's , 80's , 90's Soul , Disco , Funk , Hip Hop & Reggae , Greg although known more for 'Liquid Drum & Bass' regularly plays sets of 'Old School Funk , Disco , Hip Hop Etc' purchasing his first record in 1982 at the age of 10 'Grandmaster Flash - The Message' whilst still living in the UK (Northampton England) greg grew up listening to his mothers disco records (had no choice really) as a child in the 70's it wasn't uncommon to hear music such as 'Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now' or 'And The Beat Goes On' played in the house so the disco thing really was his first introduction to music , records became his life and has collected approx 25,000 over the years...

Labels Such as 'Defected , Glitterbox , Z Records , Masterworks , Disco Dat , Hot Digits & Midnight Riot' have all shown plenty of love for the doctor and most recently 'Salsoul' records have requested 2 EP's to be be released officially so things wont be slowing down anytime soon... Most releases so far have reached the number one position in the sales charts on most of the online stores and received support from DJs such as 'Dimitri From Paris , Joey Negro , John Morales , Greg Wilson , Late Night Tuff Guy , Simon Dunmore to name a few.

The sound is a constant crackle of repetition, and he hasn't bothered to act, leaving the Discopians in suspended animation waiting for the music to start up again.

Needlefingers was more concerned with an even bigger planet that promised him riches. All of the beauty of the planet has been frozen in time, that was until the heroes returned to make the evil emperor pay for his acts and bring the warmth of the vinyl groove back to everyone’s lives.”

When the heroes showed up and put their cloaks down,
Needlefingers knew he had a war for the crown!
Raising his hand to summon Glitterbots from the ground,
And with a rough metallic cackle they were summoned around.


The Knutsens would be first to attack! 
decaying the bots away with a magnetic shield backpack. 
And with a quick laser bass, the ground started shaking, 
and the stasis of discopia started to re-awake.


The glitter bots started to scuttle and scatter, 
they'd only been programmed with nonsensical dream matter.


Needlefingers was furious, and used repetitive drawl to summon back the detractors, but by now it was clear that he had lost his appeal.


Natasha Kitty Katt socked it to him with the laser laced bass and by now he gave up and the heroes gave chase…”

Tokyo Groove Jyoshi Bio:

TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI is a female groove band formed in 2018 in Tokyo by three Japanese session musicians, Emi Kanazashi (keyboard,vo), Juna Serita (bass.vo) and Yuriko Seki (drums,cho).

Their producer got opportunity to live in NY for eight years in 1980s and 2010s, and he went to around 500 music live concerts. Especially in late 80s, he experienced creative music beyond genres, and he fell in love with groove music. As Duke Ellington said, “There are simply two kinds of music, good music and the other kind”, he strives to produce TOKYO GROOVE JYOSHI as a powerful groove band with music beyond the generations, genders, and genres. They mainly perform at various music festivals and solo live concerts. Most of the time, they get fully occupied. Since the band is formed, they have been collaborating with other musicians also.

Fizzikx Bio:

Prolific & Diversed Producer/Remixer/Musician/Multi-Instrumentalist & occasional DJ. Fizzikx aka Joe Kirk born in the north east Teeside town Stockton On Tees in 1996 & has been based in the rural countryside of South Yorkshire since 2002. He began playing guitar & bass at the tender age of 13. At 17 years old Fizzikx took an interest in music production & playing keyboard. The Fizzikx name was established back in 2015 originally started out as a duo then not long after that it later became a solo project. His productions are mixed all different flavours of House Music such as the Deep, Soulful, Afro, Garage & Disco influenced sounds, He also produces Jazz, Hip Hop, Broken Beat & Neo Soul. He is mainly focusing on the Soulful, Afro, Jazz influences of house.

Fizzikx has released tracks & remixes on labels such as King Street Sounds, Nite Grooves, totheRock, Makin Moves, Purple Music, Plastik People, Phoenix Music , Closer To Truth, Pogo House & so many more. OPOLOPO BIO:

Opolopo DJ:s from London to Tokyo. His sets span from funk, boogie and soul to various shades of house. From sweaty, stripped down and dirty, to uplifting and lush. All unified by his worship of The Groove.

Born in Hungary and raised in Sweden, he spent the early part of his creative development tagging along with a touring keyboardist father and listening to fusion and electronic records. Artists like Herbie Hancock, Jeff Lorber, Earth Wind & Fire, Quincy Jones, Jean-Michel Jarre, Isao Tomita, and Kraftwerk

helped feed his ingenuity. The likes of George Clinton, Bootsy and General Caine infected him for life with the funk virus.

His music spans over two decades on labels such as Local Talk, JVC Japan, Z Records, Toolroom, Warner Brothers, Tru Thoughts, Sony/BMG, Defected and Especial Records. Dr Packer is an alias of West Australian DJ/Producer 'Greg Packer' set up for Remixes & Edits of mainly retro music such as 70's , 80's , 90's Soul , Disco , Funk , Hip Hop & Reggae , Greg although known more for 'Liquid Drum & Bass' regularly plays sets of 'Old School Funk , Disco , Hip Hop Etc' purchasing his first record in 1982 at the age of 10 'Grandmaster Flash - The Message' whilst still living in the UK (Northampton England) greg grew up listening to his mothers disco records (had no choice really) as a child in the 70's it wasn't uncommon to hear music such as 'Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now' or 'And The Beat Goes On' played in the house so the disco thing really was his first introduction to music , records became his life and has collected approx 25,000 over the years...

Shortly after whilst still living in the UK greg was exposed to a record label called 'Street Sounds' ran by 'Morgan Khan' he began collecting the 'Electro Series' and 'Street Sounds Series' and a regular follower of 'Mike Allen's - Capitol Radio' show in London , he was a full blown 'B-Boy' and Hip Hop Junkie , he even won a breakdancing competition in 'Lowestoft England' back in 1985

Moving on to the 90's shortly after emigrating to 'Perth Western Australia' greg purchased his first pair of decks in 1989 making this year his 28th year behind the decks , in 1991 he won the WA DMC's and defended the title in 1992 but by this time greg preferred Club Dj-ing and longer sets rather than a 5 minute scratch battle routine...

michiyo Bio:

At the age of 12, Michiyo Kitagawa joined a brass band and fell in love with tenor saxophone at first sight. She studied under Mr. Yoshiyuki Hattori, an instructor at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.　She has participated in many contests and won many awards for her classical saxophone quartetto.

After graduating from Nagoya YAMAHA music academy, michiyo started to teach electone and piano as an instructor at YAMAHA, but quit after one year because her passion for saxophone was too strong. michiyo then moved from Nagoya to Tokyo to pursue saxophone as a full-fledged career.

While learning jazz performance and theory, she began performing live in Shibuya with Grover Washington Jr. cover songs and her own original compositions. Joined the band 'Dad mom god' with members of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Shinji Takeda, Silver, etc., and participated in club gigs and recordings.

1996 Guest appearance on TV Tokyo's "Tamori's Music is the World" with Dulfer {candy dulfer's father}.
michiyo has toured and recorded with many of Japan's leading singers, including Hiromi Go, Ken Hirai, Mitsuhiro Oikawa, Kiyotaka Sugiyama, and Mai Kuraki and many others.
