Our last guest feature this year and it’s a corker! Our first ever Italian feature on the series and Da Lukas is a nu Disco DJ/Producer that doesn’t really need much introduction. 

A highly respected, well established Dj and Producer from Italy. With his unique style, blending electronic sounds blended with the funkiest of grooves, Da Lukas brings the perfect balance of House & Disco to move a dancefloor, and his productions are played by all of the major Artists in the scene. Da Lukas' reputation and presence in the scene continues to rise.

Da Lukas production career began in 2000 when he produced his first remix for Soul Providers, and from there he quickly began remixing and producing many phenomenal tracks.

In addition to this, he has released tracks for a wide range of outstanding club labels including Snatch!, Ministry Of Sound, Milk & Sugar, Nervous - To name but a few. This is a jam packed one to round out the year and one not to be slept on 🍯

Monthly mix series where I invite one of my DJ mates drop into The Shack and play some tunes.

First up is fellow 4Play resident Everybody Luvs Alf. Alf has been DJing since he was 14 when he bought his first set of vinyl decks and a 2 channel mixer. Alf treated us to a magical 2 hours of disco infused house which definitely hit the spot.

Starting out playing bass in Eighties Indie band Friends, Pete’s love of house, disco and electronic music eventually took over in the noughties with a series of EPs of original house music material under the name Southbeach. At the same time Pete’s first series of mashups gained critical acclaim and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Steve Lawler, Alexander Robotnik, Danny Howells and DJ Mag.

In 2015-2018 Pete was based in Goa where he launched Morjim Records with local producers, releasing two original tracks and playing at many of Goa’s best underground clubs.

In 2020-2021 Pete released four original tracks under the name Bardez on Bbop Music.

Following the launch of Pete’s first of 30+ re-edits on DMC in late 2020, including a Producer Series album in 2021 where he joins the ranks of Shep Pettibone, Michael Gray and Paul Dakeyne, Pete has built a reputation for producing classy mashups and edits that aim to create exciting new versions of classic house, disco, electronic and occasionally pop. These breathe new life into old classics, often taking them in a surprising direction with great effect. Many of these are yet to be released and remain exclusive to various DJs across the UK and beyond.

With great support from stations such as HedKandi, Street Sounds, Centreforce, Mi Soul and NDC, one of many highlights is having 6 tracks on the last two end of year Hedkandi shows.

Pete’s re-edits are also supported by many dance music legends such as Lenny Fontana, Michael Gray, Brandon Block, Jeremy Healy, Greg Wilson, and many other DJs across the UK and worldwide, including Powered Up’s very own Miss Chief, with a particular highlight being to provide a guest mix for Lenny Fontana’s acclaimed True House Stories series in 2022.

2023 looks set to include further exciting releases on DMC and Pete’s first live DJ sets since 2019, with special thanks to the Powered Up agency.

Originally hailing from the Highlands of Scotland Jamie & Marty met in Glasgow in 2011 and Shaka Loves You was born. 
As DJs, they have supported De La Soul, David Rodigan, Joey Negro, The Relfex, Jurassic 5 & Mr Scruff. Their eclectic sets fuse & draw on many influences, from funk & soul to boogie, disco & house all mixed with tight live percussion

SLY also operate as a production duo and their releases have gained support & airtime from BBC Radio 1, 2 & 6 and has also attracted the attention of Mixmag, DJ Mag, Ministry Of Sound & Glitterbox Radio Show. 2022 saw SLY recieve accolades for the 'Best Of Scotland' in the national press!

Legendary soul DJ Craig Charles once said "If you don't like these guys then throw away your ears". Luckily, we love SLY which means we have our ears and thank goodness as their input for Grooveology is fantastic. A one hour mix crafted of Edits and Nu Disco delights, it's not to be missed!
