THORSTEN HAMMER
Thorsten Hammer is a house artist from Karlsruhe, Germany. Much like his birth region Thorsten’s music and performances transport listeners to picturesque places. This is achieved through Thorsten’s unique journey, with his life experiences truly present in the music he makes and plays.

From the day Thorsten was born, he had music in his veins, learning the drums very early on and not long after discovering pioneers of the early electronic music scene Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. This inspired Thorsten, he was quick to learn DJing on vinyl and began to build a name for himself as a resident DJ playing at renowned venues Loft Club, MWS, Nightmare/Sinus, Stockwerk, U63011 Frankfurt to further afield including Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt, Ibiza, Lison, Sofia and Stuttgart.

During this time Thorsten was hard at work developing his sound, experimenting and pushing the boundaries to create music that evokes feeling and tells his life stories. This has resulted in releases on highly esteemed labels across the house spectrum Bar 25, Parquet, Frequenza and Ballroom.

This has led to recognition from his musical peers with support from  Steve Bug, Denney, Huxley. Davide Squillace, Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Markus Homm, Matthias Tanzmann, Nicole Moudaber, Osunlade, Paco Osuna, Pig & Dan, Roger Sanchez, Sam Divine, SiS, Solomun, Timo Maas, UMEK with the list constantly growing.

His ability to connect with listeners and fans on dancefloors all over the world has resulted in Thorsten breaching the top 10 on iTunes dance charts in Africa, Germany and Slovakia and exceeding 100K streams on Spotify alone. Arguably his biggest tracks to date were Jakuma and Hamato on his EP for Sirin Sounds, reaching number five and number eight respectively in the iTunes chart as well as breaking into the Beatport top 20 in Afro House. Demonstrating the rapidly increasing demand for Thorsten’s music.

Thorsten is entering the next chapter of his encapsulating journey, which will see him release with legendary labels Mobilee and Pokerflat Recordings.

With new releases slated for the year ahead, Thorsten solidifies his position as a formidable force in the electronic music scene, showcasing his unwavering passion and dedication to his craft.

Il est difficile de trouver sa place dans ce paysage électronique effervescent. Pourtant, Statue y est parvenu. Anthony et Dorian deux vieux potes que tout opposait débarquent en voiturette de golf, chemise bucheron et barbe de trois jours dans ce monde décousu. Alors que l’un faisait ses classes dans le métal, l’autre passait sa haine dans une minimale codéinée. Forts de leur première expérience DVision, ils ont su se construire aux cotés de valeurs sures de l ‘électro 2.0 comme Djedjotronic (Boys Noize Record), DatA (Ekleroshock), Surkin et Para One (Marble rec) ou Make The Girl Dance ( Roy Music ) lors de live électrique où rythmes cardiaques s’emballaient et filles hurlaient.
Mais Statue est bien plus impulsif, incisif. Prenez du classique, du rock, des réminiscences techno, quelques images sombres et une mélancolie d’une véhémence grave et vous aurez peut être des chances de cerner ce groupe. Une musicalité revigorée doublée de quelques remix d’une efficacité sans nom avertissent le retour du duo au devant de la scène, et cela pour un temps indéfini. Le featuring politiquement incorrect avec Ségolène Royal sonne comme un hymne pour une jeunesse « 13 en Colère ». Finalement avec Statue, on a l’impression de se prendre une claque en pleine face, et de dire « merci ».

Statue is a young and talented electronic DJ duo hailing from Toulon, France. Originally performing under the name DVision, the freshly rebranded group has cemented their place in the french Electro scene both through performances around France and a growing internet following. Citing artists such as Justice, The Bloody Beetroots and Yuksek as musical influences, Statue’s sound blends melodic tunes with edgy beats while retaining a highly listenable Electro Pop essence. Already playing with other known figures on the french electro scene, Make The Girl Dance and DatA, they plan to showcase their new material on an international tour planned for early 2013.
