Melvins and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion released their versions of the Leadbelly classic Black Betty on a split 7″ on Minneapolis based Amphetamine Reptile (http://www.amphetaminereptile.com).  Available since May from the label, as well as at shows on the JSBX tour, which began at the end of May.  The cover art for the sleeve is a lino-cut by Haze-XXL, and should be available as a print as well. No point in keeping an eye on the AmRep site for the this as it's long sold out.

The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Black Betty (split 7")

Taken from the vinyl album Vehicle, the debut studio album by The Ides of March, released in 1970. The single and title of the album, "Vehicle," became the fastest selling single in Warner's history.The band toured extensively throughout 1970 in support of many top acts, including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Led Zeppelin. The Ides of March went on an extended hiatus, during which Jim Peterik co-founded[2] the band Survivor and co-wrote all of their platinum hits including "Eye of the Tiger," "The Search Is Over," "High on You" and "I Can't Hold Back".
He also began a career of writing collaborations which resulted in many platinum hits for other artists, most notably "Hold On Loosely," "Rockin’ Into The Night," "Fantasy Girl" and "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys" for .38 Special and "Heavy Metal" for Sammy Hagar.

my mom was a lunch lady when I was in elementary school
