Driven by that overwhelming sense of wonder, surprise and contrast that has been incubating deep in their subconcious for so long, Bain is a reflective exploration of worlds, sounds, pictures and emotions informed by years of theory and practice in both the electronic and classical realms. 

This is their first adventure, the beguiling debut It's You; an enigmatic weave of ambient, techno, progressive and score music, chased back with a subtle sip of Gaelic.

What you have right here is a very special debut album by an enigmatic Swiss producer named Deerhill. 

A powerful body of work, Spore Prints is every bit as interesting, cinematic, psychedelic and widescreen as it is banging. Sitting somewhere deeeeeeep in the axis of DnB, ambient, game scores and electro, Deerhill swings from the tendrils of game-changing acts such as Max Cooper, Noisia, Stephan Bodzin and Daft Punk with impressive agility and imagination. 

Joining dots we didn’t know existed, through Spore Prints Deerhill shows us how he prioritises vibe over genre, storytelling over standard arrangements and the long journey over instant
gratification. That’s what makes this album so special. Like other musical misfits in the 1 More Thing collective, Deerhill refuses to accept current industry standards as the norm.

WTF IS INCANDESCENT?

The open-minded, risk-taking, authentically human and savagely soulful sound that we need in 2026: INCANDESCENT is our boldest leap to date.

From ambient to aggy amid back-to-back bliss, this technicolour multi-genre trip fizzes with an alchemy unlike anything you could hear on any other label or stable.

A weird and wicked weave of beats, breaks, electro, downtempo, dubstep, house, garage, jungle, 160, hardcore, ambient, techno and everything in between. Featuring artists you know, and maybe quite a few you don't (yet), this is the hyperactive, vivid, full spectrum painting I (NoDave) have personally been working towards since I first ever stepped foot on a dancefloor / touched a deck / wrote my first article.

At points this collection is gentle, delicate and glowing with a feeling of sonic empathy. At others brash, curmudgeonly and prone to sudden emotional switches. Either way, it is 100% personal and powerful.

Hailing from across Europe, North America, South Africa, Asia and Australia, every single artist is known to me. Some I've known for yonks, otheres literally because of this album. Most, though, have connected with me somehow because of this platform. Maybe the Demo Drop, competitions, interviews, events or releases or anything else 1 More Thing has done since launching properly in June 2022.

Whether we've been linked for seconds or seasons, we are all kindred spirits and close allies in this current battle creative people in right now against the risk-averse homogeonisation, ensh!tification and exploitation of the arts, reducing everything we love into mainstream pulp and money-motivated monoculture.

We are all tired of hearing the same old, same old. None of these amazing creative individuals you hear on this collection - or me personally as the curator, founder, DJ - will ever resort to copying or compromising just in order to keep a perceived slice of pie.

That's what this collection stands for. This is how we march into 2026. Things don't have to be the way they are. This is a statement that art should not be in the hands of capitalist structures. INCANDESCENT is the sound of fierce hope, love and pride for this culture. All the misfits, misaligned and mistreated individuals who built it before us, all of us now and all of us moving forward.

If any of this resonates with you then welcome on board. You get it. Please support this and pay close attention to every artist when we drop the full details on Jan 1. Follow them, get behind this and get behind us and use this as an example of difference, freshnesss and unity whenever anyone tells you dance music is dead or no longer full of inspiring ideas.

One can be described as incandescent with rage or passion. It also means energy and even used to describe a type of lightbulb - which is the universal symbol for an idea, something my brain is never short of an often too cluttered ande noisy wih - it's the perfect word for the pretty chaos me and my platform stands for.

Right now I am incandescent with hope that the amount of energy, connectivity and INCREDIBLE CREATIVITY from everyone involved that is behind this project gives 1 More Thing the boost and it needs to continue building an honest platform that prizes art over profit and risk over routine.

There is no more time to play it safe. The mainstream is not here for you. Nothing will ever move forward if we just look after our own interests.

And now for something completely different. Following Sofa’s no-nonsense jungle adventure, we now have something so utterly nonsensical and ridiculous it will either enrage or delight you. Please welcome gladde paling. 

The smoothest eel this side of the Scheldt, part merrymaker, part mad scientist, gladde paling has been tickling fans silly with his intense two minute hype bullets for exactly a year. Launching last July, his signature is based in finding daft, surreal and plain stupid samples and flipping them into meme-ified missives that flex between jump-up, hardcore and hard dance. 

Literally anything is fair game to this young talent. From the announcement sound on a Dutch Intercity Sprinter to sounds of chickens, sirens, strange spoken vocals, his own Instagram followers and cult theme tunes anyone who grew up outside of The Netherlands will have no clue about.   

Sitting on the fence is impossible. You will either love or hate it. But no one can deny the freshness gladde paling offers amid a sea of identikit dark rollers and emo copies right now. As he says himself in this interview, people don’t go to a rave... so why be serious?

If you’ve been checking for drum & bass jungle since the 2000s then the name Social Security should definitely be familiar with you… 

First emerging around 2000-2001, brothers Moses (Child Support) and Inzajeano (Crisis Loan) Latif made a big noise with a gritty sound that would stir deep deep deeeeeep into the jungle melting pot. 

Named after the old benefits system in the UK (which pretty much anyone who came from working class background would have to rely on at points during the 80s and 90s) the community-minded duo’s sound was powerful, soulful and rolling with serious intent. It was a consistent signature throughout the 2000s and a decent chunk of the 2010s… And is now back for the 2020s. 

A defiant middle finger to the current (and scarily escalating) Cost Of Greed crisis, Social Security returns after taking a break to focus on other aspects of life, including an ongoing acting career. Now with Moses rolling solo at the helm, he continues with the work he and his brother started all those years ago. 

Fresh from dropping the hair-raising sci-fi odyssey Dimension X, last week, Social Security is ready to dish out another round of benefits for the scene at a time when we need them the most. Two music lovers who definitely come from a similar place in terms of how they support, celebrate and document the culture they love, C-Bo and Cuttah's Deep Tempo podcast has been one of the most consistent and solid platforms for dubstep and 140 related music across the board and across the generations.

Sonnet - Bye Bye! (Free Download)

To celebrate the release of Don't Stop with Deerhill - my first ever spoken word track - I've put together a mix that makes sense of the track and reflects my chaotic headspace. 

The track is a letter to myself and to anyone else who needs to hear it - no matter how hard the brain snake bites, bite it back and crack on. There is no other way.

The mix is a story of a day. From the thick haze of waking up with a screaming brain to the final throes of late night self critique - this is the soundtrack to a regular day. Sometimes it's the soundtrack to a standard hour or even minute. 

There were two other aspects of this mix I wanted to highlight... I wanted it to represent some of the more commercial / funkier slower tempo music I've been playing to pay some bills AND some of the epic stuff 1 More Thing is about to release. This literally goes from ambient to 200BPM. It's even got some theme tunes in it.

This mix is a journey from the pressures of conformity to the freedom of self-expression. 


It tells the story of someone waking up to the pressures of societal expectations, gathering the urge to break free from the norm. They are then fueled by rebellion and discovery to go to the rave alone: “it’s in my DNA”. There is a naivety in the beginning, a teenage-like obsession with partying with tracks like “I  Love 2 Party” & “FRONT LEFT SPEAKER”. I try capturing the thrill of losing yourself on the dance floor and maturing with some darker cuts like “Skanka”, “Lunatics”. It then takes us into confidence & seduction - really feeling yourself, having eyes on you - feeling the room watching you... and eating it up. Before leading to hard baile funk which to me embodies pure, almost primal liberation. Finally, it ends with a cathartic jungle section, which has that feeling where you are squeezing every last drop out of a night well spent.


It’s fast, it's fun and it's a story of freedom and movement. The joy of losing yourself entirely to music.
