This week 1 More Thing bossman NoDave is joined by Pinks for a very special session that took place live on BMC Radio 22.3.25. The day after Lakeway's album launch. 

Kicking off with dubstep and moving their way up the tempos, Pinks and NoDave roll out an epic multi-genre free-for-all that even touches on hardcore and old school rave at points. 

Intense, vibey and lots of fun. Surprisingly it turns out this Pinks' first ever multi-genre b2b! Didn't seem like it. The LEVELS ARE SO HIGH!!! Shheeeshh. One of the most intense mixes so far. 

In fact this got SO tasty we even got free pizza from a nearby chef!!!

For this new episode of Come B2B With Me I am joined by Militant Music boss Krash Dubz and we are strictly drawing for the more mature tunes on our USBs!!  

What's really cool here is that Krash is 20 years younger than me and I actually asked him on this show because it's always seemed like he's been at the forefront of the genre (and supplies me with some amazing dubs!) 

Never in a million bingo cards did I think he'd suggest a classics set!! 

There are so many different perspectives on what old school and classics actually are but for Krash these terms mainly refer to tunes that were made when he was in primary school / before he was born! A product of his Essex upbringing, these heavyweight beats run deep in his DNA and he clearly knows his beats inside out. 

In summary - he's an absolute badman and kept me on my toes throughout the whole set. Think Generation Dubs, think Clipz, think Dillinja, think Baron, think Noisia, think Calibre, Total Science, Bad Company, Mampi Swift and Heist. This one goes RIGHT OFFFFFFFFF.

It's time for another scorchio selector session as a Welshman and an Irishman walk into a bar. But instead of living up to stereotypes and drinking it dry, they proceed to blaze the place down with bangers. 

Yes yes. Please make way for our latest sonic sparring partner: Sharpson! 

A man of many aliases and even more genres, Sharpson is one of those all-rounders who's played a role in so many different aspects of the industry. As Sharpson he's the artist behind Choki Biki Music who boasts releases on the likes of Dirtybird, Southpoint and Hardcore Energy. 

Beyond that he has many other aliases across a rainbow of genres, he's also a teacher and writer. But fundamentally, in the case of this video, he's a badboy DJ! 

This is by far the most intense session Come B2B With Me has had so far. From the moment he presses play we are in full energy mode with no boundaries or limitation whatsoever... UKG, electro, hardbeat, techno, dubstep, breaks, jungle and drum & bass are all in this mix. Plus loads more sounds and styles that don't have a pigeonhole.

It's another episode of Come B2B With Me! A brand new DIY series where 1 More Thing gaffer NoDave calls up a DJ and asks them if he can have a cheeky little mix together. Following our launch with DJ Hybrid in a Pirate Studio last week, this time we are in the legendary Volks Brighton to have a mix on their infamously heavy rig with the Overview overlord Energy!  

Having kicked off the year with an epoch-definining piece of spoken word poetry on the many things that the world believes is ruining dnb, Energy (real name Peter) is in very high spirits for the occasion and packing some incredible tunes. 

Imagine two drum & bass stags fighting over their territory... The two lock antlers and start circling around each other, butting, nudging and charging at each other. 

Now stop imagining that fiery fantasy and actually check this mix. Totally impromptu, nothing rehearsed, just a quick call on the phone a few days before about the b2b technique of going 3 for 3, then 2 for 2 before exploding in an almighty 1 for 1 climax.

Come B2B With Me... A new series with an old school twist. 1 More Thing gaffer NoDave Columbo is bored of conventional interviews so would rather grill his guests and find out more about them via his USB and tune collection. So he's calling up friends and kindred spirits for a sesh on the controls. 

All the fun of a B2B with no pressure of a dancefloor. This is purely about having fun with music and really getting to know each other on a different creative level. 

This time he's called up Lakeway!

SPOILER: This one is RAWWWWWWWWWW.

Recorded in the hectic weeks building up to Lakeway's album release on 1 More Thing, this mix has quite a lot of context behind it... 

Work fatigue. Travel Anxiety Slightly iffy technicals. A few clangers. Unecessarily bright lights in an unecessarily dark studio neither of us knew. Neither of us have mixed together before but we know each other pretty well. Even the batteries ran out on the sound recorder half way through. 

You can feel the tension on this one! 

Not all B2Bs go smoothly! But we rose to every challenge in this unique 140-174 session and for that alone it makes it one of the best in the series so far.  Taking in grime, dubstep, house, breaks, garage, halftime, rave, jungle, dnb and some heaven-sent weird-ass categorizable shizzle in between, we cover so much ground!

For our 10th Come B2B With Me we head to NoDave's hometown Cardiff and welcome a UK garage legend / hugely talented open format DJ for a serious level up! 

It's Fabian Dubz!

This is not your standard B2B! With both Fabian and myself NoDave rocking different controllers and operating systems, the solution was to bring both of them to the location and run them through a central mixer. This allowed us to still go 3-for-3, but also have complete independence to trigger loops, vocals, shots, samples and scratches over each others blends. 

The line between b2b and bare jamming has been obliterated on this one as we slide, glide, cut, chop, shuffle and bump our way through garage, bassline, house, breaks and even little splashes of Afrobeat, electro and funky house. 

It tells such a sweet story, too... Every other mix in this series has eventually raised the tempo but while this gets raucous in many different ways, it never goes out of that sweet 130-ish spot where every flavour and ingredient can be hurled into the pot and it all tastes so sweet.

As I say in the concluding interview - if we had a plan we'd be dangerous. This is a RIDICULOUSLY fun mix and one I hope to repeat in the near future. 

Fabian and I may have shared the same dancefloors and bought records from the same DJs growing up (big up Richie Vibe Vee and High Contrast!) and we may have met a bunch of times through industry bizzle over the years, but this moment on an otherwise unsuspecting Thursday night in a closed basement bar (big up Mocka Lounge and 1Below!) we actually connected on such a deep musical level. There are points on this mix where we move in complete sync. And that's what these Come B2B With Me sessions are all about.

Oh gossssssh!!!! This one is FIRE! 

One unassuming Monday morning last month Dorpy and I (NoDave) linked up at Born On Road studios for a fast and furious jungle dnb mix and this is how it all went down. 

Pace and style-wise Dorpy totally outshone me and showed why she's a popular fixture on Brizzle / south west line-ups both at club events and free parties where she cut her teeth. She absolutely rattles through the tracks with badass blends and switches and there wasn't a flavour I could throw into the mix that she couldn't enhance or complement. 

This is what b2bs are all about!! Huge respect to Dorpy and big love to Kelvin 373 and the Born On Road crew for letting us their decks!

💥Get ready for some explosive vibes this week as Come B2B With Me invites Fireworks Factory to the series 💥

This one is particularly special and is part of a truly wholesome and inspiring story. 

Fireworks Factory first landed on our radar when he entered our MIXMAS DJ competition in December. His exciting and unpredictable mix ran at 174BPM but comprised so many genres and vibes, it really resonated with all of us here at 1 More Thing. He eventually won the contest and, as his prize, will be playing at Big Love Festival with us this July! 

But that's not where our story with Fireworks Factory ends. A hugely talented producer, songwriter and musician, he's been building up a really impressive and innovative body of work as a producer and it's starting to make its way out into the world on 1 More Thing. 

His debut single Breaking Gemstones / Can't Stand The Rain lands on June 9. Regular viewers of this series will have already heard them in earlier episodes as they've been critical dubs on his USB this season.

In fact things get so intense I turn off the wrong deck at one point. No apologies. These mixes are raw, honest and in the moment. And there are a lot of wicked moments in this mix! Tone is heavyweight! 

Haverfordwest-based, he's a busy DJ around West Wales and the Pembrokeshire area. With chops like these, his reputation should extend much further. Razor sharp and cheeky with it! I really felt the pressure on this one.

🌞Welcome to Marble Elephant's garden for our first al fresco Come B2B With Me!! 🌞

This one is special. I have a lot of time for Marble Elephant and the sonic range they trek. Both big advocates of the deeper, emotional and cinematic sounds across the 140-170 spectrum, their cuts on labels such as Incurzion, Fent Plates, Fokuz and their own Fragrance play a key role in my deeper mixes and they're awesome people too.  

I first met Tina and Baptise at a stream called Mental Health Matters exactly four years before, back in May 2021. It was during that strange time when we were coming out of the lockdowns and one of the first times any of us had human interaction beyond our bubbles for a long time. For that reason alone it was a profound encounter but for added extra, it was also where I met Chiz who would eventually become my first mentorship student and has been a huge part of 1 More Thing. 

It turns out that particular stream was Tina's first ever set, too... And that's she'd actually learnt to mix for it! Four years later, you can see how much she slays and how deep she digs in this mix! With a partner and creative soul mate like Baptise, it's clear they both push and support each other in a really lush and wholesome way. 

With this in mind, plus everything this mix concept is based on - inclusion, fusion, sharing ideas and inspiration and having a buzz together - this has all the right ingredients. 

A deep connection, some deep-assed tunes and even a random Lakeway in background all in a beautiful outdoor spot on a lovely balmy bank holiday afternoon the day before Tina and Baptise hosted a little private party. 

It'll be impossible to forget this one!!

By far the most ambitious and talent-racked session of the series so far! 

One sunny afternoon in Bristol earlier this year 1 More Thing interrupted a Yamatai Records and Transparent Audio writing camp and took up two of their hours with this mega mix up. In Selector J Man's studio no less!! 

A proper Sunday flavour with a few beers, plenty chats and a chill vibe that felt like it could go well into the evening, this was a unique and super cool moment between Dave and a bunch of new-generation artists who represent two very on-point labels that are right on the futuristic cusp of drum & bass. 

While the rest of this series is quite intense and reaction heavy, this one is a far more laid back. The mixes are tight, the dubs are fresh, the music is cutting edge but this is business as usual for everyone in the room so there's way less focus on the mix and more focus on the social. 

Just like those Saturday and Sunday morning post rave sessions that were part of the inspiration for this series in the first place!

Come B2B With Me... A series where we invite a kindred spirit over for an unplanned, unrehearsed set and see what happens. This time we invite a fellow family member for an ultra special goodbye session. 

ATTENTION: This is an emotional one!

Not just because Chiz had me at a Pirates to do a tear-out neuro mix at 10am on a Sunday but because this mix is a celebration of everything we have achieved together in the last two years. 

Chiz is Marc Chisholm who has been a consistent voice and hugely positive energy at 1 More Thing since he came on board as a mentorship student two years ago. As he explains in the interviews pre and post mix, his life was in a very different place than it is now.

Now one of the co-owners of exciting, forward-thinking neuro label Brainrave, and literally about to do his first ever international headline show this week, Chiz has taken all opportunities I've given him and rocketed to places neither of us could have imagined in August 2023. 

The love and respect is a two way street and he's been a vital powerhouse at 1 More Thing allowing me to do all the cool things we've done over the last two years including hosting takeovers, launching the label side of things and running events. He was also the curator for our Freshest Drum & Bass playlist for most of his time with us so if you've released any D&B in the last two years, and we've playlisted it, that's down to him! 

Marc will always be 1 More Thing family but for now he's with us in vibe and spirit as we watch him take his inspirations and passions to exciting new levels.

Come B2B With Me 16 - NODAVE B2B CHIZ

It's another biggie!!! Following last week's emotional rollercoaster with CHIZ, NoDave drives over to Bristol for another meaningful clash of sounds, souls and vibes, this time with kindred spirit KJAH and the focus is very much on the classic rolling Bristol sound. 

It's a sound that's so synonymous with KJAH that I honestly thought he was literally a Bristolian for years before we first spoke years ago when I interviewed him for UKF. 

Turns out he's just a deep deep DEEP nerd for that timeless, foundational essence of West Country jungle. The fact he regularly works with originator and Full Cycle pioneer Suv is as big as co-signs get in this field. And the fact I am able to go toe-to-toe with him in his own studio is an amazing feeling for me! 

I say it every time but I love it when a B2B makes me focus and zone in on a particular vibe and style. Mixing with Keiran definitely made me do that. This is proper unapologetically headsy session of late 90s inspired basslines, deep jungle and contemporary bass rollers that we could have continued for hours.

Unfortunately a little tech failure occurs along the way so you'll have to deal with just the sound for around 10 mins mid way but honestly who would want to look at these old grumpy faces when you can close your eyes and listen to some serious BEATS? Especially as many of them from KJAH's side are unreleased, forthcoming exclusives!!!
