Adam Beyer’s Drumcode is growing from strength to strength, year after year, with a non-stop release schedule showcasing both the labels new and most established artists with cutting edge techno beats. After 20 years since its inception, Drumcode continues to push the boundaries, firmly grounding their position as the world’s No.1 techno label.

Drumcode’s youngest rising star, Layton Giordani, exploded on to the scene after his debut album “Where It Begins” back in February, after scoring some of the biggest festivals in Europe this summer, he now returns with an exciting collab titled “Live Again”.

NY born and bred, Danny Tenaglia has always been a true inspiration for Layton since his teenage years, so when the opportunity to collaborate with the fellow NY legend was on the cards, it was a dream come true.

Danny and Layton join forces for the lead track ‘Live Again’. Its deep and dark with a slowly building pad wrapping around a modulating synthetic hook. The dark and effected vocal echo takes the track into a hypnotic vibe.

‘Take It Back’ delivers a pumping drive the moment it fires up. Snapping percussive force and an infectious rhythmic groove will unhinge dance floors nationwide, whilst ‘Secrets of Vibration’ has a rattling, yet blistering low end presence to it.

The New Yorkers unite on this energetic and exciting collab.

Arriving as the third outing of Len Faki’s recently established non-profit platform LF RMX, these previously exclusive edits take on a raging classic by courtesy of Frankie Bones, godfather of the North-American rave scene.

The new Hardspace Mix bolsters up the characteristic vocal and synths for even more frantic effect but trades in the percussion for Faki’s signature assault of claps and hats. These also dominate the stripped-back Hardspace Tool, which carefully builds momentum only around the sirens and some seriously sizzling low-end rumble. Both of Faki’s personal mixes capture the orignal’s raw energy, yet manage to appear in both sleek but powerful presence.

As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be donated to the Berlin charity project Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

The new Intec release is from Frank Mitchell aka Frankie Bones who is an American based DJ and producer whose played a large role in New Yorks Techno scene. Having been involved in music since the mid 80s, Frankie Bones was one of the first DJs from New Yorks Brooklyn region to gain global success. By the late 80s Frankie Bones was getting regular European bookings following the success of his Bonesbreaks EP series, which released on Underworld Records received global recognition and critical acclaim. During his three decade spanning career Frankie Bones has even released an EP on the iconic Trax Records, which released many of the early records that defined the House and Techno genre. One of his most popular releases was his 1989 release titled Call It Techno which originally came out on Breaking Bones Records, and a firm Carl Cox favourite has now been remastered and rereleased for this special Intec package, which also features one of his new and previously unreleased tracks. Also featuring on the release are two new remix versions provided by Carlo Lio and Raito who each put their individual stamp on things. Carlo Lio is an artist who in between global DJ bookings, has released music on labels including Octopus, SCI+TEC, Turbo, Mood, and Saved Records. French artist Raito is fast rising through the ranks following regular releases Boysnoize Records, along with having also featured on Mako, Origami Sound, Main Course and BNR TRAX. "Call It Techno" has a timeless bass line taken straight from the glory days of Acid House. Filled with retro charm and warehouse party vibes, the vocal tells the story of Technos history, and the pads plus melody are rich in analogue joy. Carlo Lio's remix of "Call It Techno" uses choice snippets of the originals vocal to refine the story it into a powerful chant. This remix is fast and furious with added tension and suspense. Carlo adds his own toughened backing track thats filled with dark atmosphere plus an explosive drop after the main break. Raito's remix of has a bumping groove and stomping kick drum. Thick and chunky, it takes no prisoners with its hard hitting percussion and stabbing sounds. Jacking in every sense of the word, it's summed up nicely by the vocal lyrics "hits you in the face like a hammer! Second of the two original track is "Light It Up" which takes its title from the lyrics of the vocal sample. With spin backs and filter sweeps, the tracks forward momentum is accentuated by a series of bass drops. Lead by the building intensity of a bubbling acid line, the tracks rolling groove is a sure fire party starter. The fifth and final track is a dub mix of Light it up, which with the main vocal removed, focuses on the music only.

ID140 3. Frankie Bones - Call It Techno - Raito Remix

Without doubt, one of the house music scene’s fast rising stars, Andres Campo cut his teeth on the Spanish club scene, establishing himself as the resident of one of the most important clubs in the country, Florida 135.   Fifteen years and counting on the DJ circuit has paid dividends, Campo now regularly brings his techno orientated DJ sets to some of the world’s biggest clubbing institutions, and is building a formidable reputation to boot.  

As a producer, Campo has released his infectious house sounds on an array of labels, including Suara, Odd Recordings and MOOD.

With its pumping kicks and rattling percussion, ‘Nochord’ forages a steady yet decidedly groovy path; metallic FX rain down alongside a looped female vocal lick that filters in and out as another vocal refrain gets put through Campo’s FX chamber.  It’s a production that’s packed full of energy, soul and raw power, and perfectly encapsulates Campo’s driving house sound.

Adding a techier spin on the original, Alan Fitzpatrick weighs in with a beefed up version on his tantalising remix.  Taking the vocal element and mangling in around huge techtonic beats, Fitzpatrick follows up recent releases and remixes for Drumcode, Bedrock and his own We Are The Brave label with this killer remix for Eats Everything’s Edible label.
