If it weren't for the Lunar New Year dinner, I wouldn't even think of stepping out today. It's become a habit to snap a picture in front of the Disney advertisement screen - a little ritual of mine. Just checking if my "god-given superpower" shows any signs of leaving me.
Dr. Zhang's recommended earplugs do have some effect; at least the volume is toned down a bit. But sometimes, it's still no good. Random bursts of "cicici" noises, and I haven't the faintest idea why. Must be the mischievous wind playing tricks on me, the mysterious wind!
This new job from Company K's research department feels equally mysterious. Something feels off; my expertise and the role they've offered don't quite match. Nonetheless, the perks they're offering are quite enticing. They are, after all, the leading tech company at the moment, and adding them to my resume wouldn't hurt. But if there are strong electromagnetic signals nearby, I'm quite adept at avoiding them. If I do switch jobs, I'll probably have to figure out a new route all over again.
