The "Valley of Death," a term that resonates deeply within the realms of loss and mourning, encapsulates the profound grief that accompanies the passing of loved ones—especially when those individuals are as pivotal as a father and a best friend. This emotional chasm, this void that engulfs the heart, is a unique suffering that not only punctuates one's existence but also reshapes the landscape of daily life. When your father, a figure of strength and guidance, departs from this world, it feels as if the very foundation beneath your feet has crumbled, leaving you adrift in a sea of memories and unfulfilled hopes. Similarly, losing a best friend, a companion with whom you navigated the journey of life, amplifies the sense of solitude. Each moment becomes a reminder of their absence, a poignant reminder that laughter is now tinged with sadness, and shared adventures are now solitary. The pain of these losses is often underestimated; the world continues to spin, yet within your heart lies a profound void that no one else can truly understand. This unprecedented event shook the foundations of society, leading many to seek solace and meaning in faith. Suddenly, rituals and beliefs that once felt distant became lifelines for those struggling with overwhelming grief and uncertainty, providing an anchor in turbulent times. As communities faced the void left by loved ones, they turned to spirituality, sharing their pain and finding collective strength in shared beliefs and traditions. In many ways, religion became a beacon for navigation through the Valley of Death—the promise of reunification, the idea of a greater plan, and the comfort of a community made grieving less isolating. The sacrament of remembrance transformed into a pivotal mechanism through which individuals could honor the lives of those lost. They initiated memorials and rituals, blending their grief with faith, rebuilding their identity around the concept that though death takes away loved ones, it cannot erase the bonds forged in life. Celebrations of life woven with spiritual significance provided a sense of continuity, enabling individuals to carry the essence of their father and best friend through the stories told and the memories celebrated. Each prayer whispered in moments of solitude becomes a testament to a love that transcends death, creating a tapestry woven with loss yet rich in meaning. Keeping with the Valentine's Day theme of love, here's an oldie but goldie I wrote this back in 1998, can you believe it, It's another song about my dream girl that I wouldn't meet for many year afterwards. I was divorced for about 2 years and pretty much feeling abandoned and lonely. I remember wanting to write a song in the same vein as "And I Love Her" by The Beatles. A very acoustic number with an accordion playing in the background, you know, very romantic like something you might hear in a Paris cafe! This was one of the first songs I did with Charlie, it wasn't recorded too well since I had an old Tascam 8-track analog recorder and it's distorted quite a bit but I think the melody and lyrics still hold up. (Mastering didn't help this song at all, sorry!) I don't know, let me know what you think in the comments. I've always liked the first line about wrapping myself inside her smile. I produced the video a few months ago for this Valentine's Day. I enjoyed putting it together and added like 10 quick snap shots of beautiful women taking selfies at the end of the video. Can’t thank him enough for his efforts,  skills & enthusiasm for the ideas. A double busy top bloke.
This song is about a personal experience a long time ago that still to this day can hurt when mentioned.
Then 20 years after the dust as settled the opportunity arises out of the blue to cut to the chase and talk truth & transparency about the situation.
Always two sides to a story and their version strangely favours the brave but they take no responsible for their actions and the feelings of others after they shit on you from a great height after you have been always helpful & decent to them. 
You may still love these people and forgive them but you never forget.
So it’s about people who are close to you wether it’s family or friends. 
We have probably all been there and feel betrayed but because of who they are you rise above to be a better person. 
They don’t change with time just turn inside out.
They will still be out for number one and would sell their Granny for personal gain .
To be deceitful, lie and play you like a fiddle leaving you in the dark.
