12 Theory is an American producer and DJ who specializes in Progressive House, Progressive Breaks, Deep Techno, Organic House, Ambient and various Electronica.  Now based in Tucson, Arizona, he currently hosts his weekly mix show, “Beyond the Groove” on 99.1 FM KTDT Downtown Radio, which showcases live mixes of progressive electronic music from all over the world.

As a DJ, 12 Theory’s strengths of unique track selection, strong programming, and musical storytelling make for flowing, emotionally-charged sets that also translate well to the dancefloor.  His original music aims to connect to the listener by way of thought-provoking melodies, complex textures, and intricate rhythms.

Soy un Monstruo
Sonoran born and Tucson based, I began my journey in late 2023. Playing for my first time, I introduced what speaks to my inner sanctum the most.

Through my ears, I hear the storming synth lines and pounding kick drum of Techno as metaphors of our modern era ruled by technology, relentless work days that repeat endlessly, and the escape into the darkness of the nightlife. Techno is the answer to this bio mechanized reality. 

House and its derivatives celebrate all aspects of life.
Through the grooves, melodies and dance-induced -euphoria, we find ourselves dancing the night away.

Bass music was my first introduction to electronic music, and I will always hold a special place for it in my heart and my mixes. Through it ,I found how to break free of ideas of conforming, and how to channel my inner monstruo. 

I love to see how music impacts individuals and the collective. To see someone dance and enjoy the freedom of the dance floor is my only goal. 

My alias, Monstruo, is reminder from my father, that the answer to life’s chaotic moments is with passion, love, and dedication to your dreams. Accepting the chaos of life, yet refusing to be crushed by it. The key is on our response.
