This new chapter of our Podcast Series is a live recording of a DJ set from this year’s Bodily Community retreat in Cornwall’s beautiful Kudhva, courtesy of one of the most captivating postmodernists of club and ambient sound ~ Bruce 💫

Bruce is Larry McCarthy, a musician and DJ who has been transcending the frontiers of underground electronic music in its many shapes and forms for well over a decade. One of the major figures of the new generation of UK bass music, Larry is affiliated with the labels at the vanguard of the genre including Hessle Audio, Timedance and Livity Sound yet the expanse of his sonic world stretches out way beyond the scope of these outlets alone. Bruce’s invested interest in boundless artistic experimentation and candid self-expression lead to the release his pop ambient magnum opus “Not Ready For Love” in 2023 and is impeccably presented in this powerful and deeply emotive mix 🔮

This beautiful recording captures the essence of an engaged deep listening experience within the context of conscious retreat meets passionate interest in experimental electro-acoustic music. Challenging and sublime, it is a portal to mindful contemplation of the sound & silence continuum, riding through swells of field recordings, vocal music, raw electro-acoustic experiments and both dark and luminous ambient. It is a journey that unties inhibition and holds space for the vulnerability that comes with that release. Listen without judgement, gently and with curiosity 🤍

Soft Frenesia w/ Léa Baldazza (01/10/24)

GRAPHICAL RECORDINGS and Muscut have teamed up to co-publish Nikolaienko's "The Sounds of Pseudoscience" (12", LP). Nikolaienko's upcoming full length is a playful and intriguing archive of sounds influenced by the works of electronic music pioneers and experimenters. The album acts as a tribute to early-electronics' golden era, playing out as a requiem, pondering the theme of nostalgia through warm analogue, space-aged sounds. For the artist, it’s an odd and ironically funny sound document, which he hopes declares some other way that electronic music can be today. Watch for it this June.
