Remember when you were just children, trying to build something out of a pile of Lego bricks, and how there was always one annoying brick missing? So often we get the same feeling coming across big compilations: the attempt to remain faithful to a genre or to a label's flavour sets unnecessary borders to a world that should remain borderless. Then, when we go over all the pieces, we realize that something is missing, that one or two of them were left outside that fence.
It is exactly here that Deeperfect demonstrates its power once again. Its current magnificent compilation, "Stefano Noferini presents Club Edition 2016", is a well selected 25 tracker release carefully hand picked by the experienced hands of the label chef Stefano Noferini in order to create the perfect musical tool box (or if you want, Lego collection) for any club night scenario, without being restricted to definitions of genre or even tempo range. This might sound uncomplicated, however it takes decades of experience at the top of the game to allow musical freedom and yet remain faithful to the label's unique sound signature. This is exactly the strength of Noferini's compilation: from warmup pieces to peak-time hammers, from accelerating machines to after-hour goodies, from deep to tech, from vocal to techno, all tracks carry the famous Deeperfect signature. Punchy kicks, dominant synths and motivating percussions.

The legendary techno outfit Filterheadz return to Trax with their first EP of the year. In their short amount of time away from the label they have refined their sound and taken a slightly darker, more authentic techno route with this offering.

Rubicon almost gives a nod towards some older Dave Clark style techno with those old school analogue synths and seering drum patterns whilst the flip screams trademark Filterheadz with those proggy techno vibes. Both offerings are already being hammered by Carl Cox and look primed to set up another incredible year of music for these legendary artists.

One of the most exciting up and coming artists of recent times, Detlef makes his debut on the mighty Hot Creations with his ‘Kinky Tail EP’ featuring three jacking bombs plotting a riot on the dance floor.

We are super excited to welcome the new season with you, and proudly present our compilation for the 2016 season. This years compilation has been lovingly curated by our team to present a diverse selection, mixing the underground touch of berlin here and there, the sweet warmth of a vocal track like Alex Dimou’s, ‘This Time’, feat Black Soda, and always maintaining a careful dynamic balance and consistency throughout. Sandeman’s ‘No More Conversations’ weighs one end of the scale with a satisfying peak time thriller, alongside Roland Leesker’s own floor banger, ‘My Warehouse’. Tracks like martínek’s ‘She Bad’ operate a bit more relaxed, or ‘1141’ from George Vala, a fully functional flight into a higher realm. Robbie Akbal and Muk.ti team up and create a stellar low-down-groover, ‘Every Retreat’. Sunny open air tracks like the Daniel Dubb’s mix of ‘Everything You Got’ by m.O.N.R.O.E. are to be found as well. R+R even makes an appearance with another highly charged track, ‘L’essentiell’, keeping the tempo up in a fantastic way. "This Is How We Do It" is first out the doors from Strange Idols.

It begun life as a much loved bootleg played at festivals and clubs all over the world by Reelow, Robert Dietz, Hector Couto, Tiger Stripes and Marco Carola and a few more select DJs. Reelow is a Hungarian-born, Barcelona-based DJ who is now travelling the world with a bag full of techno and house, ready to demolish any dancefloor he comes near.

The track was a secret weapon of his for a long time before it was picked up by Strange Idols. The song has been re-recorded by Leroy Burgess, formerly of the band Black Ivory, and remixed by Tiger Stripes, who worked with Leroy on the monster Ibiza anthem "Sisters" released on Desolat. Between the 3 of them they have worked with artists stretching from Cajmere, Adam Beyer and Kerri Chandler to Jocelyn Brown, Cassius and Rick James and beyond. To have all that soul, funk, house and techno madness combined on one record is what Strange Idols is all about. Expect the unexpected, Strange Idols will lead those who are willing.


Reelow feat Leroy Burgess - This Is How We Do It (Tiger Stripes remix)

Miami born turntablelist & producer, Jesse Perez, throws down a booty shaking killer house jam for Edible’s fourth release.  “What You Say About My Momma” has been ripping up dancefloors for months since landing in Eats Everything’s hands, so it’s a welcome release on the label, backed with a deadly remix from Truncate.

On the Original Mix, Perez grinds out a funky and low-slung groove, its memorable vocal hook looping and chopping from side to side as the raw MPC beats and sub bass weave their magic.  

Truncate brings his no nonsense and direct approach on the remix, carving out a Dance Mania style drum workout over the cut up vox (think Robert Armani meets Armand Van Helden).  Truncate has been a hugely dependable producer for yonks via his trax on his own Truncate label as well as mixes for Jimmy Edgar, Shlomi Aber and KiNK, and he does not disappoint here.

Perez wraps up the EP with ‘Boogie Down Brown’, another slab of funk laden house goodness, blending high tension strings and rolling drums to great effect.

Perez has been firing out infectious house jams for labels like BPitch, DJ Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster and Hot Creations, for some time now, as well as working his own label Mr. Nice Guy, so it’s a welcome addition to the Edible roster for Jesse Perez.

Sharam Jey works up a cool, bass driven groove with this edit of Like This by Pete Sabo & Who Knows. As things get moving in the lower regions, vocal snippets and nice bouncy chords feed the rest of the techy vibe, enhanced by catchy percussion. For sure one of those tracks bound to raise attention on the floor!
