1 EIGHTY

This 1 EIGHTY song is “Java Jive,” a clever pre-World War II jazz-era number that 1 EIGHTY performed in a recent show here in Orlando/Groveland, FL.  This is our studio recording of that song.

The song was originally recorded by the Ink Spots in 1940, but our arrangement is patterned after the 1974 Manhattan Transfer version.

Mac (Harland ‘Mac’ McKenzie) again fronts 1 EIGHTY through this Tom’s House Productions recording of the Martha and the Vandellas song “Dancing in the Street.”

Interestingly, this song does not follow the Vandellas original riff and background but instead  borrows the groove from another song.  Can you guess what song that is?

Mac was part of the Intruders, a group with #1 hit songs on Billboard; he replaced one of the original Intruders and toured extensively with the group.

Dancing In The Street

With the recent release of the very last Beatle song, 1 EIGHTY decided to bring you the John Lennon song that the Beatles could have but did not record, ”Grow Old With Me.”  
 
This song was on the cassette that the Beatles received in 1995 but Paul, listening to his best friend singing about growing old and having additionally lost his wife Linda to cancer could not record this song.  

This is, however, a beautiful love song.  

 If you are still with your true love, then this song is a wonderful way to celebrate your life and love together.  If you are one of us that has lost your love, then this song offers an amazing opportunity to remember and give thanks for all you had.

This recording utilizes the type of arrangement that the Beatles may have created for this song, including George Martin-like strings and flutes.  Grow Old With Me also plays on SoundCloud through our website, www.tgday.com/1eighty

This is blues and R&B, and Mac is absolutely right on with this song.

I Remember You

Tom’s House Productions is pleased to release the newest Cascade Sisters recording,.

This release comes from a live and successful performance in a November 2023 Show.  The song was written by Neil Young and the Cascade Sisters arrangement was fashioned after a performance of this song by Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Linda Ronstadt.
