After a salubrious pause in our output, the Avenue Red Podcast resumes forward motion with the second installment in the series from one of our favourite DJ's and producers - Alessandro Crimi. This mix is inspired by the fresh autumnal vibes around his picturesque hometown of St. Gallen in the Swiss Alps, as he delivers a stunning blend of magical, dreamy house music full of blissful melodies, slick, grooving beats and soul-warming basslines. The craftiness of the mixing and well-considered transitions that glue tracks together so seamlessly are a lesson in truly innovative DJ'ing, making for a luxurious listening experience.

This 80-minute session neatly follows on from his stylistically similar guest mix on the last Avenue Red Radio Show that we did back in September. Alessandro shows that he is developing a very niche style that allows elements of his strong Dub Techno sensibilities (as a DJ and Producer) to bleed into his own unique vision of true deep house music. After a fun night at Pikes for the Openlab Balearic Electric party, I was feeling a little tired so decided to play a recorded set. I always play without a plan and see where the music goes and in this case I felt it was one of my favourite sets I’ve recorded for a while. Steve KIW is resident at Brighton's near-legendary Guilty Feet Balearic Rhythm parties and one half of recording duo Andres y Xavi, whose released the albums''Vibraciones y Sentimientos' (2019), 'Sounds From The Secret Bar' (2021) and a slew of singles and EPs on the Higher Love label. Steve has been DJing since the late 80s. He has amassed a collection of over 30,000 records. These days he is very much part of the Balearic scene - including 20 years as a member of the Balearic Assassins Of Love crew - but his collection covers much, much more.
