My relationship to the music in my head is an intensely personal one. I've got a soundtrack of original music that is more or less constantly playing in my head whenever I stop to listen. While I have loved the feeling of sharing it on stage the few times Ive done it, Ive kept music as a deeply personal spiritual+wellness practice that keeps me grounded in gratitude and connectedness to the flow of energy/life/rhythm that surrounds and imbues us all.

When I'm feeling well, I play every day, or most often,  every night. Over the past many years, my practice is to sit and let something new come. While I do sometimes like to learn songs written by others that are meaningful to me (I'll post a few random covers here and there), for the most part, I feel extraordinarily grateful for the practice of feeling into the resonance of the instrument, letting something new and spontaneous happen that Ive never played before, and usually never play again. Sometimes, I pick up my phone to record what improvisations emerge, but Ive found that even just the introduction of a recording device can interrupt the flow and limit whats happening. Nevertheless, Ive recorded many hundreds of these one-time improvisations/meditations/song ideas, thinking I may one day return to some of them to develop them, as songs w lyrics or just more developed instrumentals. Ive been careless with them too, having lost perhaps 150-200 of these types of recordings by not backing them up and breaking a phone over the years....
Unattached, totally non-goal oriented, I just keep playing, and recording (sometimes).

so what you hear here are almost all just what comes, as it comes, totally rough, unpolished, unedited, always unfinished, improv meditations.. I'm playing, or more accurately I'm trying to play (given my lack of technical training, on guitar) what I hear. Youre hearing what Ive also just heard for the first time. Sometimes I share a vocal melody on top that I intend to work on later, totally unpolished. They often just fizzle out into incomprehensible blabber. Thats how it happens, it comes and goes. I give thanks to both the coming and the going.

I thought I'd never share any of these until my "perfectionist" future self would work on/polish them up, but that may never happen, and my perfectionist self is exactly who I have been confronting through this practice anyway.
 It is that perfectionist self that most holds me back, keeping me from sharing/playing music w others. So Im going out on a limb to share  my creative, private process.
