It's the ten year anniversary of the Pause Tape 2 [Mixtape]
This mix was kinda done as a tribute to the dj's I grew up listening too & was inspired by. Dj's like Too Tuff from Tuff Crew & Jazzy jeff as well as Dj Supreme & Undercover from the mighty Hijack. To me those Dj's (plus many others) were the main focus of the music as far as I was concerned. A prime example being Mr Mixx from The 2 Live Crew, I really didn't care for their lyrics but I loved the Dj only tracks like "Mr Mixx on the mix" etc
This mix references the great Mantronix, the way he edited tracks was pure genius. And so it's also a throwback to the pause button edit mixtapes that most of us started our journey into sampling with.
It's a rough & gritty ride through battle breaks, dusty samples & heavy cutting.
There are way too many tracks & samples to list (there are a few of my old tracks hidden in there as well). All I can remember is a hugh pile of records & a busted Vestax PMC 06 battle mixer at the end of doing this mix.

There are only a handful of places on the planet where electronic music is treated like art.  The bus is one of them, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share music on it.   The tracks in this set are my own original compositions or edits. I consider this to be an album release.   The music is, for the most part, tuned to 432hz in Just Intonation. This tuning follows the harmonic series, and is in harmony with the mathematics of nature.   I hope you feel it with as much love as I put in. Finally, I want to thank the Robot Heart team for working on the system through the night to get the bus out that morning. Your effort meant a great deal to me.

The Space Cowboys have been hosting Livecast events for the past few weekends as a way to bring some uplifting spirit to the shelter-in-place requirement and to raise some monies for some important services in the Bay Area.  It was a blast being able to contribute to this latest Livecast.  This is a fun old school set of house and dance music which was inspired by all of the vinyl digging that I have been doing over the past few weeks.  Almost all of these are pre-2000 tracks that shaped my world as a DJ.  Enjoy it!

"I’ve been a huge fan of the Space Cowboys since my first Breakfast Of Champions in 2002, so its a huge honor to be asked to do a mix for you guys. It's been at the top of my bucket list to play for you since the first event I attended. You were also one of my favorite camps at my first Burning Man in 2010. Seeing what you guys did out there inspired me to create my own BM theme/sound camp TRIFUCTA, which I ran for the last decade! So with all that inspiration I wanted to put together something that I felt I might play at a BOC party that also represented the Trifucta sound. Using my experiences at your events, I started from there. I wanted to feature a bunch of my favorite records over the last few years, as well as some of my favorite producers at the moment like Kyle Watson and The Sponges, and some local NYC super homies like N2N (now lives in California) and the Renegade Masters. I don't really have a genre I stick to, I play everything, if its dirty and funky, full of Bass, and makes people dance their asses off I play it. Funk The World 60

Slyde were a UK DJ/producer duo named Robin Twelftree and Jason Laidback both with a well established musical background. The duo started the Slyde project back in 2002 and soon caught the eye of Finger Lickin Records a label which they called home for quite a few years and a place where they released their unique sound of Funky high tempo breaks including the well known track "Slipperty Slide". Gaining a huge following the duo toured bringing their unique sound all over the world. This mix was a promotional item for Finger Lickin Records back in 2010.

Exploring DJing at 14 Yrs old, Bliss was baptized into a mid-eighties music scene. 
Listening and collecting music like instrumental/groove heavy rock & funk along with early freestyle and dubs, Bliss’ ear recognized this fusion of electronic & soul that touched people.
Studying the Elements of being a B-Boy, he became aware of the electronic sounds that not only caught his ear but that also moved the crowds.
Then came the Miami Bass explosion (BOOM)! Pounding 808 bass along with booty shaking females made being a pioneer in this genre quite exciting. As a national touring DJ for KJ and da’ Fellas (Get Retarded, Let’s Get This Party Started, and more), Bliss refined his craft leaving crowds in awe with his natural talent behind the turntables.
Bliss would practice daily to achieve this level not only for himself, but his lifelong friend Exotic E (RIP!) Countless hours between these 2 artists laid the foundation for many entertaining shows, moving many diverse crowds across the nation. Touring with 2-Live Crew on the Move Something Tour as kids was something these young artists would have never even dreamed about, but it happened!

Truly a forerunner Graduating to the early S. Fl rave scene, he fought hard to open an underground nightclub called "Sugar" in 1994. Political issues kept it closed, but he still brought in Florida DJs/Artists like Chang & Matty playing Melodic and Intelligent, bass driven dance music, no matter the genre. Many memorable residencies & late-nighters, including an Epic night w/ Sven Vath, and the Pinnacle Outdoor Party of its time with The Hardkiss Brothers are still talked about.
