His new show “Faking Jazz Together” is an excellent addition to his other projects, which include(d) Memorabilia, Bayetë and Native Dance.

Norm’s ability to unearth the warmest, sweetest and deepest sounds is unprecedented. The first installment of his residency stole our hearts: a jaw dropping, incredible selection of lush music that we didn’t know we needed to hear. Spanning from major studios productions, One-Hit-Wonders and confidential amateur acts, these titles share a charming perspective of these codes while treasuring a genuine song writing. 

This is my fantasized outtake of what could have been a local fusion jazz program back then. It features biting AOR, hazy Chanson, fierce Boogie, Japanese Bossa impersonation and wistful Italian score.”

Host of 'Das Lebendige Radio' (formerly on rtm.fm) he popped into our inbox with the following message and mix -

'About six months ago I picked up a green record at a small art and vintage gallery in Pimlico. On the back of the sleeve I read that it was the culmination of a two day workshop focused on the exploration of hip-hop. The twist: The workshop happened at ETAT, a community group for the elderly.

The gallery was full with locals celebrating the opening of its latest art exhibition. As I went up to pay, someone shouted: 'Thats my record!'. A bubbly lady, probably in her 70s walked up to me and took the record out of my hand to proclaim to everyone in the small room: 'This is my record! I'm a rapper!'

This mix is inspired by a chance encounter with a chance piece of art. The record is a loose collage of even looser interpretations of hip-hop. It was the perfect start, middle and end point to explore my own - very loose - interpretation of the genre.'
