This track is made in the style of Emotional Sad Storytelling with a bit of a soulful/gospel feel to it. The track consists of Piano, Electric Guitar, Rhodes, Strings and Church Choir. I aimed for a Hip-Hop Rap track with a sad storytelling and deep element to it. I aimed to capture themes of Racism and the Discrimination of others wether it be the colour of their skin, gender or where they are from. I was inspired by Films like “Schindlers List”, “The Pianist” and “The Boy In Striped Pyjamas”. I wanted to create a simple track based on the events of World War 2 and the horrific events that took place from 1941 and 1945 and the discrimination of the Jews (Holocaust). Also the Internment of Japanese Americans in 1942, where during World War 2, the Law abiding Japanese American citizens were thrown into “Internment Camps” and stripped of their belonging simply because their parents were born in the wrong country, and thus they had their rights and privileges taken away from them when they needed it most. And truthfully, these precious “Rights” are not “Rights” if the Government or someone in power can just easily take them away like that. Though these events have passed, it’s important that we look back and learn from these events. To never subscribe 100% to an Ideology, Belief, Religion, Agenda and question things and always have an open mind. Racism and Discrimination will always exist as human nature will always be flawed, but it doesn’t mean it can’t improve and I know things has gotten better since. I believe that there will always be work to do, but at the same time, we can all make a difference and make an impact and spread awareness through our messages, our actions, our talents, our creativity, works/art and by continuously teaching the newer generation.
