The first line of verse 1 came to me while I was at work. I had the beat playing in my headphones when my manager came over to check my area. He started talking about how fast they want things done and how they expect us to go even faster — and boom: “First off, f** ya expectations.”*

I was also motivated by social media. It’s always the people who don’t do sh*t that have the most to say about those who are actually trying. That’s where the line “some of y’all only good at spectating” came from.

This song is basically me saying: F** you — I’m doing it my way. I don’t care what you think.*
