Intervals’ is the new record from Naarm-based musician and producer L Lewis out now on Bathtub Music. Blending jazz harmony, electronic production, and improvisation, the release expands on the sonic palette introduced in their debut. Built from live studio recordings in Naarm (Melbourne) with L Lewis, Lachlan Thompson, Finn Milne, and Jordan Dunster, the tracks were later chopped up in London by L Lewis.

The B side features remixes from local and international artists Space Ghost, Hector Plimmer, Joseph Shabason and Jonah Gabriel plus a bonus digital remix from Alex Albrecht.

In the wake of their widely-acclaimed album Union, JUNO-nominated duo Èbony rematerialize on the dancefloor with the otherworldly Shades of Meridian EP, projecting a waking futurist dream haunted by echoes of Detroit techno, Chicago house, South African melodies, and the rich mythology of Ancient Toronto. 

Opener “Break My Skin explores a hidden pocket of after-hours techno space-time with an ethereal vocal by James Baley, leading into the tense, disembodied jack of “Forever.” Next, “Dull Side First” rides a spectral break through a sepulchral warehouse trip, “RIFT” invokes peak-time witchcraft, and closer “My Daylight” entrances even the most self-possessed sound-and-lighting guys to spam the smoke machine until reality itself is occluded. 

And to those who say that working with JUNO-nominated artists proves that Turbo is just a cog in the CanCon cabal, we would like to familiarize you with the facts: Canadian Tire refused to carry our 2023 Bryan Adams remix LP and we have rejected five separate demos from Justin Trudeau’s tech-house alias “Arabian Nights.” It’s called integrity — try looking it up sometime.

Michael Mayer became obsessed with Erik Luebs, an American producer based in Osaka, after stumbling upon his independently released music on Bandcamp. Luebs’ talent for creating high-energy, minimalist acid techno with impeccable, futuristic sound design swiftly earned him a regular place in Mayer’s sets. It was only a matter of time before Luebs made his debut on Kompakt’s Speicher series with this highly versatile EP. ‘Riding the Blade’ opens the four-track EP, showcasing Luebs’ signature punchy psychedelia. ‘Scarlet Viscera’ features a sleek, minimal groove that is reminiscent of the genre’s heyday in the 2000s. ‘Transform Into Glass’ emanates blissful Detroit vibes, and the EP closes with a real bang: ‘Sucked Through Tube’ creates a frenzy on the dance floor without the need for a single kick drum. 'DE9 Fragments' is a series of fragmented audio edits based upon my live DJ set recordings. Each one will attempt to capture the feeling and direction of the night, giving those who were there a reminder of the events they experienced while giving those who were not present a fragmented distortion of what they missed.

200 Records was founded as a Techno label for vinyl and digital releases by Kai Sasse and Dirk Middeldorf in Cologne, Germany at the beginning of 2009. 200 Records releases music for the club and defines itself as an open-minded label striving to provide a platform for both established and new artists. They are putting an emphasis on connecting with their artists musically and personally. The motivation behind starting this label is Kai’s and Dirk’s love for electronic music; the will to contribute a piece to its development – to give back – and last but not least, due to their close friendship, the desire to create something new together.
