You spot a large crow sitting on a chestnut tree branch. Suddenly you go back ten, maybe twenty years. An endlessly long literature class. To kill time, you look at the dusty leaves of the ficus on the windowsill, the utterly expressionless face of Fyodor Dostoevsky in the portrait above the blackboard, the deeply carved letter "A" on the desk, the delicate gold-rimmed glasses of Yulia Alexandrovna, the frozen soap streaks on the laminate floor, the scuffed shoes of your classmate Sashka, the tube of a fluorescent lamp that burned out six months ago and still hasn’t been replaced… and the large crow sitting on the branch of an old birch tree in the schoolyard. A nauseating winter melancholy and dense thoughts dissolved into the April dance, which might seem like a random collection of sounds at first glance — yet within them lie numerous intersections of meaning and empathy for the present moment.

This playlist navigates my movement rhythms through Berlin, into smoke-filled bars and venues bursting with ambition and false desires.

Die Anstalt, Saeko Killy, Beak>… became the soundtrack to spring’s awakening hope.
Fresh releases on the German label Bureau B kept reappearing along the path that brought us together. Notably, the promising heavy basslines of the French trio Eat Girls and their debut full-length album Area Silenzio pierce the void, dissonant with delicate, yet confident vocals.

In this context, it’s worth mentioning Saeko Killy—elegant Japanese synth-pop with otherworldly intonations that drift like light from distant stars.

A special companion to my daily listens, and perhaps now yours too — Brokenchord and his debut album Stone Island Tracks. This Lithuanian artist thickens the air, and I find myself in the shadow beneath a vibrating dome of low frequencies. They’re sticky, like wet asphalt at night, and the voice, as if from underwater, guides us through twilight quarters — panel walls breathing in delay.

This sonic palette takes on the intergalactic contours of my cosmic homeland, the one I call home. In my mind, I see the Wild Fields of Zaporizhzhia embraced by industry, where the fresh air is laced with a metallic tang.

I’m tired of imagining — I want to be there!

That’s why on May 30, I’m organizing a concert for Brokenchord and seizing this opportunity to invite you to 90mil in Berlin.

We’re beyond excited to share a special mixtape with you from @hoavi (aka Kirill Vasin), a St Petersburg-based producer and DJ who has been an integral part of the underground scene for over a decade.

Hoavi’s journey began in the early 2010s when he founded his label, Shells Rattle, and he has since released music on labels such as floe, Snare Tapes, Peak Oil, Fauxpas, Minor Notes and ГОСТ ЗВУК. Beyond his solo work, Hoavi has collaborated with artists like Oomkah Dee, contributing to the "Collage" series, which blends sound art with contemporary dance. We've first got acquainted with his ambient side thanks to the album "Music for Six Rooms" which we also invite you to revisit. We were so taken by it at the time that we reached out to him to add one more gem to our collection.

The mix he recorded for us is a beautiful blend of genres and emotions, with ambient tracks, dubby sounds and abstract beats – a journey through soundscapes and experimental vibes. It’s not pure ambient, but the sound flows so naturally that it felt like the perfect fit for our series.

"Прекрасна темрява" is a vibrant dialogue between experimental dark folk and avant-garde gems from the 1980s–1990s and contemporary dark ambient, electro, and indie tracks—where beauty and hope always shine through the darkness.

KLIKERKLUB has been based in Berlin, Germany, since 2002. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, it has been producing podcasts and albums and curating concerts exclusively with Ukrainian artists.

KLIKERKLUB is deeply grateful for this incredible cultural exchange and the opportunity to share its perspective on Ukrainian independent music.
