The 19th release from Cognitive Music comes from label newcomer DJ Versa-Style, who brings his signature 808 sound to the label with Get A Life.  Old school percussion and a spoken rant start things off while the snares and a siren are added to the mix, filling things up to the first drop, introducing a thunderous Miami bass line with a bouncing synth and faint vocal dancing on top.  As the track continues, chopped up vocal samples and gritty synths weave in and out of one another, building to the big break, which brings the full spoken vocal together with a sick, sliding melody.   Beats and a chopped vocal are then brought back, elevating the track and energy to its highest point.  An infectious, bass driven track that is not to be missed.

We go to Florida, where this artist has been playing and growing up on the breakscene for two decades!! One of the more recognized Djs on Florida scene, great producer and founder of the most popular promoter and also label DogEatDog, yes you know him, we're proud of present you... SI-DOG!!!

Rob Silas aKa Si-Dog handle one of the best breaks poolparty at WMC and other parties organized by him, but we won't talk about this or his label, we will focus Si-Dog as artist and producer! His sets and music are always very influenced by the old school roots with wich he grew up, the essence of his sound is the perfect combination and mix between the best of the oldskool with the actual breaks. An artist with a great experience and tons of parties behind his backs, you will understand better what we mean when you listen this mix!!

The set he did for our weekly podcast is full of new music and specially representing songs of his label DogEatDog Records, but also you can listen music of other artists and different subgenres of breaks. Cognitive Music Breaks Episode 06 - 21paths

CHUCK RUSSELL 1964-2007 - aka DJ SCREAM
The track was written just after Chuck passed away Oct 2007. He was a great many things to a great many people. I taught Chuck how to mix records back in mid 90’s, and inevitably he became a club DJ, which had been a dream of his. Chuck embodied the term “Free Spirit” to the millionth degree and gave us all an unforgettable story every time we chilled! Chuck and I used to pull some serious time in the studio, either mixing records till dawn and the thereafter, but there were the times where Chuck would video tape me on how to use the equipment, so when I’d leave he’d be able to bang away on the machines in his studio and create his musical meanderings. We all loved him and were hit deep when he left. We will never forget him and I want this track to always be remembered as MY peace with his untimely departure. I think he would have loved this track, but knowing Chuck he may have had a few tweaks somewhere in it…I would love if this track could live forever, as his memory will with us. The track is about celebrating a fun life! It’s about the motivation we all have to preserve fond memories, keeping the spirit alive in reality and in our dreams. It’s about what Chuck was all about! We will miss you friend!

"Super Self" - DJ Jason Brown - Original

FYI - The Soundcloud compression algorithm has destroyed this upload. I'm working on getting a better copy, but I never had it digital, the label did. It was written on a very old computer, before hard-disk recording was economically possible, so this is all I have left other than the actual record. This is the very first track I produced for wax. I wrote the lyrics based off of a poem I read and it had a private dedication to someone special waaay back then. DJ KJ (Kevin Shiver, from K5 on KRAM) engineered the project and Tessa Calina was the voice behind my words. This was published on vinyl for KRAM records, back in 1997. Charted in DDK top 50 nationwide over artists like HeavyD and Mary J in their dance categories. If ANYONE knows where I can find Tessa, please tell her I miss her voice and her way with a tune. She was my voice and I was sad to have her go!! So bittersweet to see the label become successful having her as the lead woman, knowing we could never collaborate again. It was a magical relationship back in the day. We had three other things in the works in my studio that never saw the light of day, but hand that girl a mic, loop a melody and a dope beat and then record whatever she belted. Get her to do a second take in harmony and wah lah a blow up track was born!

Calling his home base Orlando Florida, 21 Paths began mixing music in 1996 under the moniker DJ Alias.  
Sasha, John Digweed, Quivver, Hybrid, Jackal & Hyde and Dynamix II are but some of the influences that attributed to the unique auditiry experience that 21 Paths delivers.  His first love being trance then progressing to brokenbeat, it's only natural that he found his raw talent shine the brightest within the progressive breaks sound which he proves to dominate to this day, through hisfrequent mix releases and live bookings.  He also holds the title as owner 
 of the Orlando based digital brokenbeat label Funky Flavor Music.  He is the graphics and art mastermind behing the entire label and brand.  21 Paths and the Funky Flavor team are responsible taking the label from it's inception in late 2013 to one of the most recognized brokenbeat outfits worldwide.
Featuring 5 mix lines with over 250 varoius DJ mixes, 150 worldwide digital releases, and various awards he has truly set the standard for 
the label community as well.  Setting himself apart by innovation not duplication is what had made 21 Paths stand alone, and gain the
