Plastiksound kicks things off with ‘The Dark Side’ setting the tone with looped up guitar riffs and tech percussion sure to be a firm favourite in Ibiza at sunset. ‘Manuel del Giudice’ flips thing around with a tripped out vocal track ‘Circus Master’ that fuses elements of techno and deep lush chords and pads. Mael provides a harder slab of deep/tech with a breakdown in ‘Deviation’ of epic proportions. When your talking about old hands in the British Dance music scene that still hold the credibility to stick to their guns and continue to play non commercial, true house music you need look no further than Scott Bradford.

Scott first cut his teeth on the decks in 1989 playing odd club slots around the North East of England but he soon pushed himself to the forefront after teaming up with long term partner, SCOOBY, when they started their first weekly residency at Rockshots in Newcastle.

After two years and the subsequent rise of the silly hardcore scene Scott realised it was time to move on and relocate to a smaller venue where only those who appreciated their music fully and the crowd could be closely monitored. They took up residency at Club Afrika in May1992 and the legendary SHINDIG was born.

moving into it’s 21st year (making it one of the longest running club nights in the UK) the night now resides at the impressive Warehouse 34 in Newcastle has played host to a who’s who of international DJ talent and has gained a massive reputation at home and abroad.

Having recorded under the monikers NEW PHUNK THEORY, LITTLE GREEN MEN, SHINDIG, THIRD MOVEMENT, FISHEAD (with Satoshi Tomiie) and most notably as LEXICON AVENUE their remix and production credits extend to such labels as Yoshitoshi, Airtight, Hooj Choons, Paper Recordings toy name but a few…

Celebrating its 21st year this month sees Shindig host Part 2 of it's birthday Celebrations this coming august bank holiday along with a Shindig Pool Party at Croatia's SONUS festival also this bank holiday.

22 Digit Records is an eclectic label with releases that cover a full spectrum of music ranging between Deep Techno and Ambient House. Now on its 50th release the label presents a very special release from Tom Ellis. 

With previous releases on his own label Trimsound, Morris Audio, Logistic Records and Matthias Tanzmann’s label Moon Harbour, Tom has a long and impressive back catalogue of releases. He also has close ties to the world renowned Freerotation festival in Wales, where alongside the likes of Move D, Ben UFO, Tom Demac and Leif he plays each year as a festival resident. 

This is Tom’s third release of original material with 22 Digit and as a label favourite, who better to mark its half century with this stunning three track EP, which covers the full spectrum of House music.

Newcastle-based producer Midicult makes his world debut release on the city’s 22 Digit Records.  In keeping with the 22 theme, the label’s 22nd release will fittingly hit the shelves on 22nd August.  Midicult is a new alias for a well known producer who prefers to keep this latest project more secretive – with a decade long career in house and techno his music has been heavily supported by DJs including Nick Warren and Magda, he runs his own label and has released music through the Global Underground compilations, but that’s all we’re allowed to say! UK based 22 Digit Records welcomes back Tom Ellis who over the years has become a regular of the label now returning for his fourth EP.

Tom Ellis has an extensive back catalogue featuring many highly respected labels including Moon Harbour, Night Grooves, UntilMyHeartStops and Archipel.

Many also know Tom Ellis for his residency and longstanding involvement with the Freerotation Festival, but he also plays regular headline slots at other clubs and events.

Heavily influenced by Jazz and with a love an analogue sound this EP is another fine example of the genius that fans of Tom have come to expect.

Alongside the two original cuts is a remix by Lovebreak which is the artist alias of someone who has been heavily involved in the music industry for many years, but is now ready to step out from behind the scenes and take the spotlight themselves.

Both of the originals have a techy funk to their groove with eccentric sound design and soulful use of a sampler, while the remix gets experimental with its chugging sound full of personality.

The new release welcomes back SiddEffects who dropped an EP on 22 Digit in 2016 that was described in DJ Mag as being “very smart indeed” as part of its 8/10 review in the magazine.

Siddhesh Sardesai aka SiddEffects was born and raised in the Indian city of Mumbai and has featured on other labels such as Alltum and Triplefire Music.

“Dirty Sponge” opens the EP with smooth synths and pitched tom drums that unfold with a delicate beauty. With a deep atmosphere and a melodic groove the track's sensual vibe is both spiritual and uplifting.

Second on the EP is “Whale” which has a timeless sound, fusing ambient moods with ethereal pads and pulsating rhythms.

22 DIGIT DEEP TECH HOUSE PODCAST 001 - YokoO

Mr. Thruout, debuts on 22 Digit Records and brings a pedigree that has seen him release music for imprints including HouseBeat, Mono, Celestial and Suoneria Mediterranea.  His two original tracks are very different; ‘Change It’ adopts a low slung and eerie feel with rolling beats, while ‘Timed Out’ is much deeper, soulful and laidback.  Remixes on the ‘Change It EP’ come from Catwash Records label manager Gulivert and 22 Digit’s Pete Weasel.

Based in Cagliari, Italy, Mr. Thruout also spent a spell in London from 1996-2000 where he created music covering everything from drum & bass, to dub, to speed garage, all released on vinyl through his label Occhio Records.  His return to Italy saw a change in focus onto house, and in particular the deeper variety.

Behind the decks for more than ten years, Gulivert is a promising underground talent that has emerged from Paris in recent years thanks to releases on Catwash, Flavour, Intacto and Microzoo.  His first release was actually on 22 Digit, with a remix of Colin Sales back in 2009.  As part of the Parisian crew that incorporates Gauthier DM, DJ W!LD, Chris Carrier and Phil Weeks, Gulivert can be found spreading the good word of music wherever he's in demand - Paris (he's Cirque Bonheur resident), Barcelona (Sonar OFF), Calvi, Turin, Frankfurt, Ibiza and further afield.

Pete Weasel is co-founder of 22 Digit, fronts the label’s recently launched podcast series and a resident VJ for Newcastle’s long-standing club night Shindig.  His recent remix of Ludowick on 22 Digit follows earlier re-touches of tracks by Michael McLardy, Melos + Kyber, Ricardo Jefferson, Midicult and Jerico.

Label favourite Ludowick follows up his 2012 ‘Groove Stalker EP’ on 22 Digit Records and brings back a growing pedigree that has seen him subsequently release music for imprints including D-Lab, Door67 Recordings, Deep Mentality Records and Bembe Recordings. His three original tracks are heavily influenced with emotion and vibe; lead track ‘Get It Off’ sets the tone with a lush groove and haunting vocals over swirling effects and atmospheres, with the bass moving the vibe into a more funky ethic. Remixes duties fall to the energetic and eclectic Moodymanc who brings a dash of euphoric hands in the air flavour to the table. His remix of ‘Get It Off’ sure to be found in many of this summers festival sets worldwide and a firm Ibiza season favourite.

Moodymanc aka Danny Ward aka Dubble D has an outstanding pedigree in the electronic music world. Having worked as a professional drummer for 15 years Danny Ward has clocked up plenty of nocturnal hours on the live circuit. He’s toured with a variety of artists from contemporary electronic to classical jazz spending countless hours on stage in smoky clubs, concert halls and festivals. Along with working as part of Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Soundsystem he constantly delivers top notch solo material and remixes. Danny's music makes you stick your hands in the air and carefully stroke your beard at the same time. 
 
Entrenched in the Barcelona electronic music scene for more than ten years, Ludowick is a promising underground talent that has delivered some solid releases in 2012. His portfolio of material now grows even stronger with the addition of ‘Sometimes I Wonder’ a rolling Tech House beauty and ‘Signs from Heaven’ providing the icing on the cake with a progressive growler that builds and builds with such raw vibe it is impossible not to be taken in by its power.

Known for his high-quality house sets, Daniel Faulwasser, aka Dan Drastic, is a firm fixture in Germany’s club scene. In addition to his deejaying skills, his work as a producer has been impressive, particularly in recent years. Furthermore, he has managed to build an international fan base as a presenter and producer of the monthly Moon Harbour Radio Show.
As early as the Nineties, he was active as a deejay and organized club nights in his hometown, Chemnitz. In 2004 he moved to Leipzig. There he was quickly welcomed into the Moon Harbour family and released his first productions on Highgrade, Lorna, Curl Curl and the English label Hairy Claw, which is part of Stevie Kotey’s label group Bear Entertainment.
At the end of the summer of 2008, his first EP “Slice Of Life” was released on Moon Harbour. The title track was the start of Dan Drastic’s regular appearance on Moon Harbour. Subsequently he cooperated with Chris Lattner and Matthias Tanzmann and released tracks on several Moon Harbour label compilations, as well as on other labels such as Luna Records and Rrygular, teaming up with his friend Andreas Eckhardt on the latter. In addition artists such as Luna City Express and Simon Flower have asked him to remix their music. In early 2012 his “Noodle Stories EP” was released on Moon Harbour. Soon afterwards he mixed the new label compilation “Moon Harbour Inhouse Vol.4”, released in June 2012.
Since autumn 2011 he has been producing and presenting the monthly Moon Harbour Radio Show, alternating with Luna City Express. The show has garnered a broad base of regular listeners worldwide and is broadcast by several Internet radio stations like Pioneer DJ Radio and Samurai FM.
Dan Drastic is the guarantee for a great set on the dance floor. He is now being booked throughout Europe and has already performed in venues and on club nights like Studio80 (Amsterdam), Watergate (Berlin), Panoramabar (Berlin), The Zoo Project (Ibiza) and Robert Johnson (Offenbach). In Leipzig he hosts the Moon Harbour Flights that take place every two months at the legendary Distillery.

"Moodymanc" has become one of the most respected names in house music today. The cheeky monniker was given as a nickname to Danny Ward by his cohorts at 2020 Vision recordings due to his heavily jazz tinged productions and Mancunian roots (Danny was a Hacienda regular and performer back in the day) whilst he was producing his two widely acclaimed albums and may 12"s under the name "Dubble D" and as part of "2020 Soundsystem".
 The rest is house music history with the first series of 12"s on his own imprint through 2020Vision leading to releases on labels including Tsuba and Dessous (as well as 2020Vision itself), and underground 12"s on boutique labels including Landed, Abstract Theory and Fly By Night. The considerable success and response of these releases, not to mention his chart topping eps "Black Paint", "Joy"  and "Father"  have showcased his unique production skills and lead to him becoming one of the most in demand re-mixers around, keeping his name consistently in the bestseller and DJ charts and earning the respect of most of the big hitters on the scene, whilst his tribute re-work of Whitney Houston's "It's not right, but it's okay" continues to be an internet sensation.
 Danny's roots lie in his background as a jazz musician (he still regularly performs with some of Europe and the US's finest) leading him to gain work with such beat luminaries as Rae and Christian, the Pharcyde, Fila Brasilia and many more before taking the drum and production seats in 2020 soundsystem with Ralph Lawson and Silver City, this led him to perform and dj at some of the biggest clubs, dance events and festivals across the world and has seen him create a large media presence having graced the cover of DJ magazine and been featured in all the Dance music glossies as well as the underground blogs.
2013 is kicking off in fine style for Danny with Moodymanc re-mixes of 95 North's classic "Let Yourself Go" tearing up dancefloors and vinyl eps in line for spring release on Frole , Abstract Theory and Gimmick, plus a "Dubble D" ep on Dark Energy and further side projects and an album planned for later in the year.

22 Digit Records is run by William Reed (William Welt) and Peter Bartram (Pete Weasel/DEE.P). Peter is also the resident VJ for Newcastle-based clubbing institution, Shindig. 

The label has a firm focus on deep and percussive electronic music and has received regular support from key players, appearing in set listings by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jozif and Richy Ahmed, among many others. 

As well as being featured digitally on compilations including the critically acclaimed 'Balance' mix CD series, 22 Digit presses limited runs of coloured marble-effect vinyl through its sub label, 22 Digit LTD.  

While focusing on a close family of core artists, the label also releases music from other producers that share its vision. These have included Matt Tolfrey, Ekkohaus, Trus’me and Moodymanc to name but a few.
