Soda Pants is a group of young, talented folk-rock virtuosos influenced by classic rock legends such as Paul Simon, The Band, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. The group formed at UCSD in March 2012 when musicians Erin Bower, Will Chapman, Mike Sierks, and Grady Kestler met and entered the Battle of the Bands. 

The folk rock four-piece began touring across the west coast, opening for eclectic acts such as Matt & Kim, Kendrick Lamar, Capital Cities, Portugal the Man, Andrew McMahon, the Mowglis, Youngblood Hawke, Run River North, and many more. Soda Pants was later given the San Diego Music Award for Best New Artist in 2013, opened for Conan O'Brien during a visit to UCSD, and received airplay on 102.1 KPRI, 94.9 FM, and 88.1 KPFZ.

Six-piece band Delta Rae consists of Liz Hopkins and Brittany Holljes who front the robust group with sultry harmonies rounded out by Holljes’ brothers Eric (vocals, piano) and Ian (vocals, guitar) as well as Mike McKee (drums) and Grant Emerson (bass). The band who made their way to Nashville from Durham, NC chose their moniker from a mythical story the Holljes siblings’ mother wrote about a Southern girl of the same name who summons the Greek gods to earth. A regular on the festival circuit since forming in 2009, the socially-conscious band’s larger-than-life performances have earned coveted spots most recently at Country 2 Country (London, Scotland) in addition to Bonnaroo, Tortuga Music Festival, Austin City Limits, Hangout Fest, VOODOO and Lollapalooza. They have received national attention with features in NPR, Washington Post and New York Times in addition to multiple late night performances and inclusion in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list. They were recently named by CMT as a “18 for 2018” Listen Up artist with both Rolling Stone and Billboard touting Delta Rae as "Artists to Watch.” Beginning September 5 at The Basement in Nashville, the troupe will begin their 16-week Delta Rae Revival that features the perfect mix of light and dark sounds and an immersive audience experience. EP’s A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE and THE BLACKBIRD SESSIONS as well as introduce fresh music into the set each week, plus invite special guests throughout the residency. Joshua Taylor just released his debut album, About Time, and toured the album nationally alongside San Diego-based Folk/Americana duo 22 Kings for their Bringing Me To Life tour. The tour included twenty stops in six weeks, with Josh departing in October 2015 to play across the United States, up the Atlantic Coast and back through the Midwest, returning to San Diego by December. The tour was capped off by a joint CD release party with 22 Kings at Sycamore Den on December 3rd, 2015. For a man who has spent several years working to get to this point, finishing his first national tour and releasing his debut album have been incredibly rewarding experiences for Josh. It’s almost hard to believe he left his old life to become a full-time musician just a few months ago, after years of attempting to balance his passion for music with other pursuits.

Josh’s work on About Time bends a few genre lines while remaining grounded within the soul/blues soundscape. With the heart of the album cut live in the studio with a core band, Josh called on some of Southern California’s finest musicians to deliver electrifying performances for his debut record: Josh Weinstein is on keys, with Kory McAfee playing bass and Shane Fitzgibbon behind the kit. Supporting the album are incredible performances by Sandi King of 22 Kings on backing vocals, Ron King on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Ed “Muggles” Croft on tenor sax and flute. About Time is produced by San Diego’s own Sven-Erik Seaholm, whose musicality, expertise, kind mentorship, and incredible investments in time and energy are in the soul of this album.

In the two years immediately prior to his becoming a full time musician, Josh studied counseling psychology and underwent a year of clinical training in marriage and family therapy. Before that, he spent five years as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy, serving on destroyers at sea and on the staff of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division in Afghanistan. His love for music has been slowly simmering since age 13, when he first picked up a guitar and began singing songs to his friends and family. This year, he finally decided to take a leap of faith and immerse himself fully into making music.

Joshua’s previous life took him to many parts of the world, and his continued love of travel and adventure is sure to send him touring the country to share his music with anyone eager to listen.
