A-side: 1979-1985 SNIPPET

"It's my day off. After a good coffee, a buttered toast and a few slices of banana on top, I can leave. I put on my headphones and folk sounds with non-syncopated rhythms. The smell of fruit and vegetables warns me before my eyes that I'm only one street away from the market. I am happy, relaxed, smiling. The puffs of indica just after the last bitter sip of coffee take me to the place where I want to be. I'm enjoying myself."

Berlin based digger dj rotwein (@djrotwein) is easy to satisfy. Give him 2 turntables, a mixer, a nice smoke and a glass of wine and everythings fine.
His digging journey started 5 years ago with playing disco and house records. Nowerdays his focus is mainly in the 90 bpm spectrum. Since he moved together with his best bud Phil OG (@philogkeepon), they created the balearic banana (@balearicbanana) mix series and youtube channel, where the interpretation of balearic is totally free. No genre boundaries, everything goes, as long as it flows.

Our last Island Time of 2020, is a special 2 hour mix straight from my heart to yours, made to commemorate our collective transition out of this year. This is a personal set filled with favorite discoveries made in these weird and challenging months. Spiritual and Soulful African, Indian, Caribbean and Latin; hand-selected records for washing toxins away.

This mix leaves ions and iridescent luster behind. This music creates a pleasing effect. Pieces with no glaze have nowhere to get the oxygen from, so they take it from clay. This atmosphere will turn clay black, making a matte color, without sheen.

Island Time Radio: Mix 24 with XOGN

There's a stream in the universe circulating with an ever flowing rhythmic structure. You can swim in it and take off with a piece of forbidden knowledge. It will interchange with what you bring and manifest itself in sound. Like in this excellent mix from XOGN where he digs into a deep cosmic rhythms session.

XOGN is a DJ and selector from Brussels, Belgium and we asked for a mix when we heard his recent mix for Island Time Radio.
The mix is all vinyl and consists mostly of new productions with a select few tunes from the 90s thrown in. Dream Deep all families around!
