After almost two decades on hiatus, the independent band 26 Fingerprints, formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, is resuming its activities with the re-release of “Superhero”, one of its first original compositions. The new version of the track marks the band members’ reunion with music and with a project that, despite having had a discreet trajectory, was significant for the group.

Created by Enrico Minelli, Adriano Chiappetta, Guilherme Chiappetta, André Uba and Vicente Rufino, the band came up with the idea of ​​mixing elements of rock, grunge and nu metal, exploring the varied influences of its members. At the time, they recorded an independent album and performed in alternative spaces and local events in São Paulo.

“Superhero” was the first song composed by the band and, since then, has remained a symbol of the group’s sound identity. The re-recording marks not only a return to the studio, but also the desire to revisit and breathe new life into the songs created during that period. The band is also considering re-recording other tracks from the original repertoire.

More than a return to the music scene, the re-release is a reunion between friends and a tribute to the journey they built together.

Wonderland Syndrome formed in 2009. Hailing from Oakland, California, the band quickly became a fixture of the East Bay metal/punk scene. Wonderland Syndrome quickly began recording, and hit the road. WS received numerous offers from record labels early on, but chose to remain independent in order to retain control over every aspect of their music.

After numerous successful tours, studio albums, and lineup changes, Wonderland Syndrome is still going strong. The trio will be hitting the road for a US tour this summer, and releasing their 9th studio album later in the year.

Wonderland Syndrome's eighth studio release, Transfiguration, highlights the wide range of sounds that the band has explored over the years. The album ranges from slow and atmospheric, to psychedelic funk, to grinding blast beats, groove metal, and everywhere in between. Songs about love, loss, self loathing, inter-dimensional space travel, and tacos keep the variety going. Transfiguration is available now, nearly everywhere music is sold and streamed.
