I created this track by improvising on a Gibson SG over three variations of a drum pattern. I produced the drums using custom sounds I made on the AKAI MPC Live and the Teenage Engineering PO-32. I also played the bass part on a Sire J7—my marvelous fretless bass.

He asked me why

in chalk outlines

He argued with a strawman
stacked me tall and thin
fed me lines I never spoke
then bragged about the win

I wasn't there

He needed me simple
so he trimmed the pieces
that wouldn't break easy
He wore my silence
like a trophy
called it proof

I tried to speak
between his verdicts
But he filled the spaces
with speeches
he wrote for me
His voice louder than mine

He argued with a strawman
gave me thoughts I never claimed
stripped me down to paper fears
then set the stage and named the game

I watched him shout
He locked the truth
and left me out

I wasn't perfect
But I was real
Still, he fenced a fiction
and crowned himself
king of reason
Even my pauses
were misread as guilt

He argued with a strawman

"Lingering Light in Winter’s Embrace" is a chamber composition for eight instruments, deeply rooted in the expressive tradition of the Russian musical school, profoundly inspired by the legacies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Georgy Sviridov. The piece seeks to capture the ephemeral beauty of memory, weaving an atmosphere of tender melancholy and quiet contemplation, as if illuminated by the delicate glow of a winter landscape.

At its heart lies the theme of nostalgia — a longing for moments lost, expressed through a lyrical dialogue between the strings (first and second violins, viola, cello, and double bass) and the poignant timbre of the winds (flute, oboe, and clarinet). The strings evoke heartfelt emotions, whispering tales of cherished recollections, while the winds add a breath of airy lightness and a subtle shimmer of hope. The double bass provides a resonant foundation, grounding the composition in the timeless embrace of the natural world.

This work transcends a specific narrative, instead inviting listeners on an emotional journey — a meditation on the fleeting nature of time, the enduring power of the human spirit, and the universal search for harmony. A timeless rocker cleverly written intertwining the hazards of driving with the ups and downs of love. Hank uses all 4 lanes of the interstate and them some with his steady classic rock n roll rhythm, chiming chorus guitar, and an out of nowhere guitar lead solo using open scales and his stock tremolo bar. Almost two songs in one, the climactic second half finale brings Hank's heartfelt pledge of love sung over a beautiful chord progression filled with lush string arrangement which seems to be echoing that steady clicking, humming sound of the lonesome interstate, Warning, this song stirs up emotions just below the surface of those who know love all too well.

After almost two decades on hiatus, the independent band 26 Fingerprints, formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, is resuming its activities with the re-release of “Superhero”, one of its first original compositions. The new version of the track marks the band members’ reunion with music and with a project that, despite having had a discreet trajectory, was significant for the group.

Created by Enrico Minelli, Adriano Chiappetta, Guilherme Chiappetta, André Uba and Vicente Rufino, the band came up with the idea of ​​mixing elements of rock, grunge and nu metal, exploring the varied influences of its members. At the time, they recorded an independent album and performed in alternative spaces and local events in São Paulo.

“Superhero” was the first song composed by the band and, since then, has remained a symbol of the group’s sound identity. The re-recording marks not only a return to the studio, but also the desire to revisit and breathe new life into the songs created during that period. The band is also considering re-recording other tracks from the original repertoire.

More than a return to the music scene, the re-release is a reunion between friends and a tribute to the journey they built together.
