This EP takes its name from the title track "Little Lights", which I originally released years ago. The tracks are very similar, all sharing dreamy melodies married to downtempo beats and melodic bass. It's relaxed and cool, whimsical but grounded, childlike without being childish. Of course I see myself in those descriptions, and I’m proud to show a side of myself that isn’t lasers and smoke machines. While I’ve thought about having “this sound” be branded as a different artist name, I think both are me, so both are 2Beeps. Please enjoy and share!

Founded in 2014, Men I Trust (menitrust.com), is an indie-dance band from Montreal (Canada) who produces its own music videos. “We love smooth sounds, calm melodies and simple rhythms that relax, but make your right foot tap and your chin bounce on the beats. We are all in DYI: we record, mix, master and shoot our music videos ourselves, and we’re loving it!”

We recorded You Deserve This last summer. We weren’t supposed to do any music that afternoon, we were really chilled out and in a great mood. We were playing with some rhythms and started having fun with detuned and off-phase synths. We recorded the guitars and the final vocals last month following our initial idea: it’s all about relaxing, wishing good to oneself and others and the nostalgic joy of feeling part of the universe.

2Beeps (Matt Verzola) established himself in the electronic music scene with releases for Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records and Atrak’s Fool’s Gold Records. What followed was the creation of 2Beeps Records, debuting with a tribute to 90’s breaks music and Miami Bass, the “Shake That Ass EP” followed by the dreamy and downtempo “Little Lights EP”, a release that’s more personal than the dance floor music of his past. Creative production and nostalgia are hallmarks of the 2Beeps style—a style often veering experimental, whimsical and folksy. 

2Beeps is frequently a collaborator and composer, with music featured on national ad campaigns and TV shows.
