Gratitude, Midbar Festival, for gifting the opportunity to play in Israel - a truly special journey. This was the first evening dance of the festival. 

Starting with a deliberate slow and steady pace, my intention was to guide the audience gently through the dance starting with psychedelic, slow and bassy rhythms. Prior to my set, my dearest brother, Pina Baran Albatlos curated a beautiful & electrifying ecstatic journey, prompting me to create a more subdued build-up to the first peak. 

Inspired by my surroundings, I played a diverse mix of Middle Eastern melodies, from Egyptian bellydance beats to electronica, ancestral medicine music, organic soundscapes, and groovy rhythms. 

Completely unaware that a war would erupt on the final day of the festival, it seemed as though the Spirit of the Desert beckoned us to fortify our connections and embody a loving presence as a global community. While we danced, we unintentionally forged a healing space for the entire world, unknowingly preparing our hearts for the challenges ahead.
