Poker Flat go right for the jugular again with this
blazing collaborative EP from the duo Tim Engelhardt
& BOg.
Engelhardt in one of the hottest talents around,
forging a hugely prolific carrier already from his
home base in Cologne, Germany. Just recently
Tim released his debut album 'Moments of
Truth' on Poker Flat followed by a remix EP.
Teaming up with the hugely talented Bogdan
Tanase (BOg) from Romania, the boys put together
a strong musical statement.
'Synchronicity' sets out the stall - driving, powerful
tech house with a sense of class and
restraint. The energy is teased through-out the
track, pulling from the tight rhythm and expressing
itself with dramatic, moody synths - interwoven
into a slick whole.
'Alma' also showcases the pair’s ears for dynamics
- each element in the track perfectly crafted
and mixed - the result is an emotional dance
floor experience that’s more than the sum of its
parts. 
Turning up the heat, 'Astronauts' kicks of with a
thumping groove that builds and mutates across
the track - resulting in a driving, powerful weapon
for a multiple of situations.

Today’s cocktail got lots of Scandinavian spirit! Danish electronica newcomers BYLJA, consisting of Marchel Mørk & Emil Aagaard, is presenting the Scandinavian version of the Moscow Mule, the “Nordic Mule”.

BYLJA is one of those acts we stumbled upon while browsing through the endless stream in the cloud of sounds. The project has just debuted in Denmark and is not yet one year old. Marchel and Emil have released one track as of today, this gem is called “LAKI”. It was love at first sight. Or, better, at first hear. The track transports such an incredible atmosphere of melancholic, ambient but at the same time uplifting melodies. It was clear we wanted BYLJA on board and we are super happy they mixed their first mixtape for Schirmchendrink!

Marchel Emil share an enthusiastic passion for electro-acoustic ambient house music, which they give a personal and Nordic touch through BYLJA. With musical inspiration from artists such as Kiasmos, Bonobo and Moderate, BYLJA moves in a world of melancholy, well thought compositions and magnificent sound surfaces. At the same time, BYLJA's sound universe has deep roots in the house music, from which
they include rich bass and distinctive drums.

BYLJA's sound is characterized by a natural fusion of the digital and the analogue. Both computers and analog synthesizers, acoustic piano, guitar and bass form the frame of the duo's organic sound.

Their Nordic Mule contains fantastic unreleased productions of the duo. Can you guess where they are hidden? We are so much looking forward for those pearls to be released…and more coming from BYLJA soon!

For more than the last decade, Ron Flatter has been enriching the house and techno landscape with his own direct and energetic productions and warm, groove-driven DJ sets. Initially the young German was a keen skateboarder and hip hop fan, but the lure of dance music soon pulled him in and he has never looked back since.

Over the years he has turned out a high number of consistently excellent and innovative tracks that are filled with unique sound design, fresh melodies and plenty of dance floor drive. He has done so on labels like Pour La Vie, Still vor Talent and Traum Schallplatten, always evolving with each new release and exploring fresh new ground. Plenty of taste making talents ardor the world have all played his productions in the past, and recent cuts like “Stupid World” and “Desert” have taken DJs by storm: they combine heavy drums with light, emotive pianos and well-timed breaks that thrill and surprise just when you least expect.

As a DJ, too, Ron is a skilled selector who knows exactly what to drop and when to drop it. He has played in every major club and festival in Europe in the last decade and holds down a key residency in his hometown of Halle (Saale), Germany. It is there that he likes to interact with crowds, read their needs and play to their passions, mixing up deep house and techno and plenty in between.

After more than 26 EPs and singles, a fine 2011 full length in Growth Rings that really showcased the breadth of his style and more than 50 remixes, all of which have seen Ron put his special stamp on a cultured selection of sounds, Ron Flatter is well and truly a global electronic player who wins big with each and every project. Always releasing and headlining on a regular basis, Ron Flatter’s beats are the beats that matter.
