Prepare yourselves for a journey of intergalactic soul… Damon Jee’s Dust & Blood label is about to launch its most cosmic trip to date.

Your captains on this voyage de l'âme intergalactique are the bossman Damon himself and his right-hand navigator Darlyn Vlys. Arm-in-arm they team up for three remarkable planet-bouncing adventures, starting with ‘Phénomène’. A butt-shaking, blunt-smoking space disco freak-out, complete with electro-style roboticised vocals, this isn’t just a track – it’s a window into a new dimension. And it comes complete with a killer return trip remix from the Adana Twins.

‘No Flash’ follows. Instantly striking with its loose, swinging off-grid drums and scorching rocket booster synth splashes, there’s 23rd century Italo flavour as we zoom deeper and deeper into the aether before ‘UFO’ brings the EP to an astounding climax. Less of a ‘UFO’ sighting and more of a full-bodied feeling, these are otherworldly flavours on an Area 54 level: in just six minutes the French duo traverse their entire sound palette with aplomb. Big crunchy synths on the intro, hip-slinging bass guitar on the drop and lavish extra terrestrial synth flares, ain’t nobody phoning home when this is playing.

There’s something like a phenomenon, as LL Cool J once told us, but there’s nothing like a ‘Phénomène’. Ready for take-off?

Revered duo Catz ’n Dogz make an anticipated return to Watergate Records, joining forces with Mexican artist Theus Mago for a debut collaboration. 
 
Catz ’n Dogz dropped their maiden dispatch on the Berlin imprint over a decade ago. Since then, they’ve become standout favourites after a stack of first-rate cuts, a contribution to its exalted mix series with Watergate 22, and regular appearances at the club, highlights including an album launch and a special showcase for their label’s ten year anniversary. The link up with prolific producer Theus Mago - who makes his first appearance on Watergate Records - comes after him making multiple appearances on the duo’s Pet Recordings outfit, as well as impressing them with his diverse output on his own label Duro. 
 
‘Understand’ is the cut that leads and it’ll quickly become apparent that this musical union deviates from the label’s typical sound. An oddball sonic trip packed with spacey synths, it’s driven by a galloping bassline and punchy slaps. ‘Fly’ wades further into retro-dipped territory, plunging listeners into an ‘80s-spun domain with crashing drums and a cascade of erratic synth work. ‘Intuición’ brings the EP to a thrilling close, gathering speed and intensity with rapid-fire hi-hats, razor-sharp synths notes and unrelenting, rolling groove.

@montyluke's ‘Nightdubbing (Part 2)’ lands on Rekids this February.

Kicking oﬀ Rekids’ January, Monty Luke’s ‘Nightdubbing (Part 1)’ won the support of Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Fred P and many more. Radio Slave’s esteemed label now readies itself for part two, starting with ‘Supernova’, a slow-burning groover shot through with whirly synths and deep space textures, broken up by retro vocal samples. ‘Starstorms’ continues to explore the deepest reaches of the unknown, picking up pace via shaker rhythms, driving bass, and raw foot-on-the-pedal pads.

Up next is Monty Luke’s ‘New World / Old Future’, in which scratch-like drums, dubbed-out hits and a rolling rhythm are all in perfect order before the psychedelic ‘Avantgarde Dancehall’ introduces wonky liquid sonics and intricate melodies over a steady beat. Closing this eclectic oﬀering, ‘Travelling ‘Round The Sun’ features drums rooted in dub alongside spoken word poetry, rounding oﬀ a release that is storytelling at its very best.

Monty Luke spent ten formative years in Detroit, where the city's unique musical spirit inﬂuenced him immensely. He has since distilled this experience into the music he has put out on labels like Rekids, Planet-E, Hypercolour, and his own Black Catalogue. His raw, dub-infused sound comes with plenty of futuristic designs, with this second part of ‘Nightdubbing’ continuing to push the boundaries of his music.

Gabriel Sordo a long time Mexican favourite from his hometown of Guadalajara, has been playing music for over 15 years now around the globe and signing his music on top labels like: Get Physical, Culprit and My Favourite Robot to name a few.
He brings his 1st solo EP to our label delivering hypnotic melodies, bouncing grooves and 3 tracks that work so good on the dance floor.

The package comes together with a collaboration with Dubphone from Romania, that also has been active on the Akbal Music family recently. So expect some magic minimalism combined with fresh vibes and pumping tunes.

'As Connected arrives at its 3rd year of existence, the team have decided to put together a compilation of tracks old and new that showcases its musical diversity.

On this sampler are brand new remixes from Olaf Stuut, Tim Engelhardt, Stefano Ritteri, Reboot and Moscoman, and they will be released on vinyl alongside a brand new track from label heads Stereo MC’s, plus the first appearance on vinyl of classic connected release ‘Lust’ by Tigerskin K.E.E.N.E and Elli (David Mayer Remix). The full compilation, meanwhile, features catalogue cuts by David Mayer, Re.You, Nandu, Florian Busse, Aaaron, Floyd Lavine and Pôngo amongst others.

Frank Heinrich aka Reboot delivers a remix in typical and well-known manner. Groove, groove and again groove, a lot of love for drum arrangements, plus a bit of weird modulation on the vocal make up this great remix. This piece doesn't have a loud eccentric nature but grabs your attention over time and is not going to leave you until it's over.

This vital contemporary label has been building steam over the last few years with increasing vigour, and this release follows their ethic of offering a diverse and underground mix of tracks that offer plenty of club action.'
