This was planned as the closing set of the most divine three day collaborative co-creation.... I thought the crowd "might" be starting to slow down a bit after three days/nights... they had other ideas. 
A shrine was made out of stuffed animals on sticks, at one point the entire dance floor sat down so they could get up again as per the lyrics of the track.... and there were at least two more DJs before everyone showed any signs of slowing down. I can't wait for next year.!

Sooo, this was my first Splendour In The Grass DJ set  :) 

I was originally booked to play 2 years ago, but then that pesky virus got in the way. So when the time finally came to play, my genre had evolved somewhat. I name this set an ode to Victor Ruiz (lol. It channels a journey from worldly house, to chunky funtimes, to end in a wee bit of techno (because, thats where im at, although im sad the last track was lost in the recording).

This track opens the Outlier album. It’s built from tension, that kind of magnetic pull on the dancefloor where everything’s unspoken, but understood. A little sweat, a little danger, that flicker of eye contact that changes everything. No introductions. No questions. Just energy.

I wanted something French house inspired, but not obvious. Clean mix, sexy groove, no vinyl static. I created a conversation with the vocal and sax responding to each other, almost like foreplay and that’s where the track finally lets go.

This one's for the ones who never needed to ask.

Here i give you a glimpse into my set at Funky Town this past year at burning man. This entire day was magical. From playing on Thunder Gumbo art car, to Bubbles and Bass, then closing it out at funky town it was a marathon.  Here i delve into soul, funk, disco, house music and more. My computer got messed up and deleted all my saved mixes from that day but here is a recreated version of how i think it went down. Recorded live in nyc.  Do enjoy.

DJ Ginger | Made In The Shade 2018

Performed Thursday night, 10pm-12am @ Booty Hunters, 9:30 & H. This kicked off a span of 4 DJ sets in a 48 hour period and it was awesome. A blend of some funky, disco tracks with some "guitar house" that made for a great collection of friends and faces. 

Special thanks to Dima and the rest of the Booty Hunters crew for letting me throw down. I had a blast getting people to dance their faces off in y'all's dome.
