The beats were powered by the legendary Roland TR-909 drum machine, giving the tracks that unmistakable 90s techno punch.

The wind howls through the shattered remains of the village, carrying with it the whispers of the past. The night is thick with rain, each drop striking against the ruined stone like the ticking of a clock, marking the passage of time in a place that has since been abandoned. The scent of damp ash mixes with something far worse—the stench of death.

Fires still burn in some of the ruined homes, their embers casting eerie shadows on the cracked walls. The rain fights to drown the flames, but they persist, flickering like dying souls refusing to be extinguished. Between the debris, bodies lie motionless—some twisted in agony, others barely recognizable. Whatever happened here was violent, merciless.

I step cautiously through the wreckage, my boots sinking into the wet soil. Past lifeless streets where only shadows remain, past homes that once held laughter, now nothing but hollow shells. The silence is suffocating, broken only by the crackling flames and the distant weeping of the storm.

Then I see them—the markings. Deep, unnatural scratches on the broken walls, that couldn’t have been made by human hands. Symbols are carved into doors and stones, symbols I do not recognize but feel, in the depths of my being, were meant to keep something out… or perhaps to keep something in.

At the heart of the ruins stands the castle, looming against the storm like a dying god. Its iron gates are twisted and shattered, the once-grand entrance violated by an overwhelming force. I step inside, the cold air wrapping around me like a shroud.

The grand hall is filled with toppled banners, shattered chandeliers, and the remnants of a feast left to rot—plates still set, goblets overturned. But no bodies. They were here. They should be here.

A whisper slithers through the darkness. Not from a person, but from the walls themselves. A voice, fractured and distorted, calling my name.

Then I remember the stories I heard from the refugees—the storm that was not just a storm. The darkness that came before it. They spoke of shadows that moved without light, of figures seen in the corners of their vision, of a presence that lingered long after the winds had died. They said the storm came from the castle itself, like a wound torn open in the world. And when it passed, the village was no longer theirs.

Some said the storm was a curse, others claimed it was the return of something buried long ago. But one thing was certain—whatever happened here, it was not the end. It was only the beginning.

The darkness isn’t empty. It never was.

Surreal East - Ruins Of The forsaken (Chapter 2)

Agnost1k is proud to welcome 2methyl with his new album : Etched.

Our goal, was to create once again a unique physical project to deliver you this unconventional album by the french producer 2methyl. As we heard on his first full album Layer 8, he is definitely an example of creativity.

Etched assembled some complex and detailed sound design structures, around many different styles. His futuristic dark drum n’bass and IDM identity, reaches for Agnost1k some advanced aspects of his Art.

This album delivers a fine experimental and industrial way of playing with all the muscial environnements of this concept. The listeners will appreciate a high level of production which includes some deep field recordings and a slight touch of modular synthesis. For those who know 2methyl on stage, you will also recognise the impressive percussion’s work directly recorded by the drummer Youlé.

We also want to draw the attention on various tracks like « Cross » which includes a featuring with Kdeath from the US Hip Hop band, Moodie Black. Germanium with it's jazzy rhythm or the tecknoid track « tech2 » finished the global creative process of this golden etched concept.

Agnost1k has decided to release this album into a limited 50 collector copies. A special gold edition of our handcrafted CD box.
