Näo has cast a spell on excited listeners for years, proven by brilliantly received live performances and audio releases. after two years of anticipation ant-zen and audiotrauma proudly present their fourth full length album 'duel' - a new chapter in the history of this extraordinary french project which includes six new tracks as well as three magnificent remixes by artists they’ve become friends with.

an intriguing intro carried by suspenseful electronics and alienated voices is only the prelude to a breathtaking sonic surplus of puissant bass lines, sharp guitar riffs, pushing beats and majestic synths. in continuous progression of intensity, quiet meditative parts turn into intoxicating outbursts of power and volume. basic elements of advanced experimental electronics, industrial, post- and prog rock are alchemically interlocked in a most perfect way which is näo's unquestioned trademark.

on the remixes of tracks previously released on 'III', three french projects deliver fresh components while keeping näo's specific sound characteristics: dub-based drums and predominant bass on matkalybrid's version of 'evol', dead hippies turning 'barnsa' into a fast synth-oriented heavy electro rock tune almost doubling the original track's speed, and a pounding idm interpretation of 'kitab' by 2methyl (aka 2methylbulbe1ol).

A song by the first band I had. Mike DiSantis and I wrote it in 2003. I figure for our ten year anniversary of us learning to write what we thought might be actual songs, along with Shawn 'the cockmaster' Pratt, I'd rerecord the track myself at my home studio. It's taking me a few days, but I have the music tracked, and all I have left to do are the vocals. Needless to say, I sing a lot differently these days so I'll need another day or two to finish the vocals. In the meantime, any of you ReadySetDie fans can have a listen to the new instrumental while I finish up. Cheers!

Therapy Sessions is super excited to welcome BLOCKDATA into the family fold! 

We love a wee bit of Scot, and have been really impressed by the unique vibe and energy to BLOCKDATA’S track, with releases on OHM Resistance, Triple G, Sonic Terror, Abstrakt, Northern Soul Alliance and Etheraudio Recordings.

One of the things we particularly relate to is the primary ethos of BLOCKDATA to create music driven by interesting sound-design, rather than being beholden to a specific genre. 

For this first release, of what I’m sure will be many more, we present UNDERGROUND and ORCH.

UNDERGROUND is a chunky monkey of a techy roller… but alongside its bite is a bit of bounce…crazy edits and cheeky fills, vocal stabs calling you to join us in the subcultural slime. If anyone watched Misfits (which I am currently revisiting), this is definitely the soundtrack of that dark, urban, UK underbelly – maybe with a bit of Super Hoodie free running thrown in…the sound of urban futurism…

Once we catch our breath, ORCH starts by lulling you into a false sense of security, the calm before the storm… Then we break into a little of what I like to call the “pom pom Amit shuffle”, that deep and experimental side of dnb that Therapy has always had their toe in, before turning on its head with a cacophony of clangs, bangs and bleeps of the OG Therapy style (a la SCARS) teamed with some utter madness, breakcore/crossbreed-esque fills, spills and thrills thrown in for good measure. This track gives us a bit of everything a Therapy soldier could want.

Really happy to support this release and a wonderfully eclectic Artist – maybe one day when the world regains some sanity, we can brock out together in person here in the UK to start with!

Therapy Sessions Recordings represent some of the best tracks dark Drum and Bass has to offer, handpicked with limited, discerning releases from names you've heard, as well as a platform for new names you will be hearing a lot from in the future! This month's episode is bringing uncompromised dark drum and bass in your ears – we proudly present „Shadow Sect“(@shadowsectmusic)!

„Shadow Sect“ is a producer and DJ duo based in Italy, focussing on neurofunk and hard drum and bass. Coming from different musical backgrounds, they joined their forces to create a unique sound, including influences from hardcore, drum and bass, metal and experimental electronic music.

They first performed together in 2013 at a Therapy Session night in Italy, followed by several gigs in over twenty countries all around the world. After the release of their debut EP „Monsta“ on Close 2 Death Recordings, „Shadow Sect“ released various EP's on some of the most respected labels in dark drum and bass, including PRSPCT Recordings, Othercide Recordings, Future Sickness and many more. If that's not enough already, these releases included collaborations with artists like Hallucinator, Switch Technique and Dope D.O.D., only to name a few.

This mix perfectly displays their own musical vision and their ability to heat up every dancefloor with their energetic DJ-Sets. Stick around "Shadow Sect" and stay tuned for the next moves to come from this hellish duo!
