An MC who is respected and loved in equal measures by the DJ’s and ravers alike is a rare thing indeed but 2Shy does this with ease due to his natural talent and stellar stage presence.

ZO by name and "Promo" by nature, Promo ZO is a relentless force in the underground Drum & Bass scene, known for her instinctive ability to champion cutting-edge sounds and emerging talent. 

With a career rooted in passion and authenticity, she brings unfiltered energy to every set, broadcast and production.

Starting with Ministry of Sound Radio alongside legends like DJ Zinc, Promo ZO has steadily built her reputation. Fast forward to today, she reaches audiences worldwide with her weekly live shows on Bassdrive and stand-ins on Rinse FM, including covering for the renowned Uncle Dugs. 

On the London club circuit, she’s a staple performer, regularly playing high-profile club nights and festival stages.

Born in Konya in 1974. Acid house, 1987, was his first step into electronic music. He played at various local radio stations and parties between 1994-2005. Currently he does not actively play as a dj but he is a devoted follower of electronic music. He likes to play and listen to techno, dark techno,hard techno, drum&bass, jungle, drumfunk, hardstyle, gabber, speedcore, breakcore etc..

Essence of Chi was birthed in South London in February 2004 and swiftly emerged as one of the most rapidly expanding Drum & Bass promotions of the early 2000s. Renowned for throwing unforgettable parties that ensnared all facets of drum and bass, from the depths of deep grooves to the explosive energy of the dance floor, EOC events are famed for their electric atmosphere, meticulous attention to detail in sound, lighting and space, and of course a roster of exceptional artists, harmoniously blended together to achieve the perfect equilibrium.

From humble origins at Brixton's Plan B, EOC gradually evolved into roadblocked birthday soirées at Scala and Hidden, whilst regular events at the then-infamous Herbal in Shoreditch witnessed around-the-block queues. Gramaphone became the next stomping ground from 2010 until its eventual closure in 2011.

EOC’s sonic wings continued to spread: hosting tour parties in locations across the UK, such as Leeds, Oxford, Brighton, Guildford, and Portsmouth & arenas at some of London's most prestigious drum and bass events, including Renegade Hardware v Valve during Carnival 2006, The Baby Box and Bar at the iconic Ministry of Sound for their in-house d&b nights, Fuse and Switch. EOC even had the privilege of commanding an entire weekend at Innovation in the Sun two years on the trot, alongside Rotation. Not forgetting their legendary legacy at Moondance, the EOC area held a regular residency for an unparalleled ten years running. This lead to being twice nominated twice for the coveted title of Best Small Club Night at the Drum n Bass Awards, in both 2008 and 2009.

Fast forward to 2017, when Essence of Chi made an explosive comeback, taking on the mighty task of leading the electrifying Drum n Bass stage at Moondance Festival, while also returning triumphantly to Scala for a curated extravaganza on the hallowed ground of New Year’s Eve. And thus began a wave of "Middle Skool" events, paying homage to the Golden Era of 1999-2009 in conjunction with scene stalwart, DJ Ascension, captivating the hearts and souls of ravers at North London's Work Bar & Club 512.

With the dawn of 2024 on the horizon, EOC sets its sights on a momentous 20th Anniversary celebration. Plans are underway for a multi-venue jubilee, crafted in collaboration with their longtime allies and ethical clothing sponsors, THTC. Coincidentally, THTC themselves are celebrating an impressive 25 years in the industry, making this a harmonious convergence of musical milestones.

Gemineye startet his musical journey around 1990 when MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice and Technotronic conquered the world. He soon switched to some crazyer stuff like NWA, Public Enemy, Das EFX… So hip hop was his first love as you can say. But it did not take long for him to find out that “listening” is not enough.

With his buddy Dez48 he startet to to make his first beats and let him rap over them. That was around 1995. Well as you never heard something from them, it was not soooo tight ;) but as you know practice makes perfect… kind off… But back then they had the idea to start a label called “Das Cameleon”.

So 1999 another musical part came up. First turntable (omnitronic) and a gemini mixer…. yes gemini… that all was crap. A few months later the first Technics 1210 MKII and a Vestax 05 Pro entered the room. At that time 0711Club in Stuttgart was “tha shit”. So all he wanted was party and bullshit… and the Subculture Mixtape Contest offered a way to have a gig in that club. Well 2nd place was not good enough :)

So Hip Hop was very big and they rocked some little parties in Jugendhaus Süd (Sindelfingen), private parties, the first “release” of the infamous mixtape “spezialeinheit” (selling off the trunk…how ghetto!!!), etc.
 
 
In 2000 he started studying and so he had to reduce his musical time. Still producing some beats, dj, and…yes party and bullshit… but being more experimental as Hip hop was not enough. Some electro and experimental Hip Hop crossed his way.

After building some online connections he joined the r2s crew with Rockes and KFA. Well 2003 they had one Gig in Coburg at the GUP festival where he was the crew DJ with his cuts. Yeah Kool Savas and Eko fresh where the headliners…well ;)

In the following years he found his way to dubstep (Thanks to RKNS from cologne). Allways anoying people why there are no dubstep parties in Stuttgart he decided to start his own party series called “Basssucht” at Hype Club in january 2010.

Finding his way back to the music he also started the Mix and Mastering Studio 187 with his old colleague Dez48 who was still busy all the time producing hip hop and connecting with more and more people.
