My name is Zmonious. Z is for zig zags, monious,  is the sound I deliver. I'm from south central Los Angeles.  A member of the Legendary group ( DA HERD ). I sing & rap. 

Born in 1992 in Humboldt Park, Chicago, Smiley has been dabbling in music ever since the age of 7 when he wrote his first hook. Music was and has always been a source of comfort for him as he nostalgically remembers his mother returning from long days at work and relaxing to music by Al Green and Marvin Gaye. Growing up, Smiley listened to several artists such as Usher and DMX and has cited them as major influences in his own style. Listening to a wide variety of artists has helped Smiley realize that musical expression is an innate realization of each song itself. As in, every song needs to be treated differently to convey the true emotions behind it. Sometimes, these emotions tend to even conflict but that is what makes music what it is. This gives Smiley quite an eclectic understanding of music and allows him to express his feelings about his musical content in a variety of different ways. Anger isn’t just anger, frustration isn’t just frustration and happiness isn’t just happiness and to convey the intensity of these emotions, he would have to blend in various ways of performance to come to that sound that would accurately capture his mindset. In fact, Smiley believes that true music comes from being honest with oneself and not trying to be something that the person is not. He hopes to inspire his listeners by helping them relate to the struggles that he has personally been through and continues to go through.
