This is a mix made with love as a tribute to and archive of Atlanta’s underground resistance and nightlife culture in this shifting moment, paved by Black Atlanta intersecting with Queer & Trans Atlanta. It transcends genres, scenes, communities, featuring almost all tracks from Atlanta’s talented underground producers and creators.

The South influences everything, and this mix is in reverence of the power, community, taste, range, parties, and energy Atlanta brings to the world. Forever, we love atlanta

With MERDEKA, Animistic Beliefs broke free from external expectations
and reclaimed their ancestral narratives.
The album embodied a turning point on their ongoing journey
towards self-acceptance.

Now, with RE:MERDEKA, they pass that charge forward —
inviting a visionary lineup of 12 artists from diasporic, decolonial, and
experimental club circuits to rupture and rechannel its essence into new
frequencies.

Featuring contributions from Nada El Shazly, 3Phaz, Raja Kirik, twofold,
Exploited Body, Corin, Flora Yin Wong, Deena Abdelwahed, x/o, ZAH,
and Makossiri, each track is fracturing, magnifying, and reanimating
its themes further.

The reworks move across rhythmical architectures:
from fragmented percussive mutations to meditative hauntings.
Every composition a different dialogue.
Where the unresolved gathers form and stories breathe anew.

This collection continues MERDEKA’s first steps facing away
from Western club music. Leaning into polyrhythms, ancestral echoes,
and sonic influences drawn from diasporic and non-Western worlds —
worlds that amplify voices, emotions, and ideas that are too often erased.

We’re donating 50% of this release to the Sameer Project,
a donation-based aid initiative, led by Palestinians, working to supply emergency shelter and aid to displaced families in Gaza!
