Initially written in Tulum in late 2019, Koletzki completed the album in Berlin aided by numerous live musicians and vocalists, bringing his sketches to life with a focus on wooden instruments like djembes, marimbas, santoors or duduks, thus sculpting a natural sound that's warm in timbre, rich in groove and literally made of wood. 'Copal', the first of two advance EPs, captures the essence of Oliver's approach, teasing the release with its floor-focussed shaker of a title-track and the handpan-driven epic that is 'Cryptozoology'.

Eagerly awaited, the third and final instalment of the label's anniversary "Hive Audio 10 Years" trilogy is here with us. To round off this special treat and new-trip-around-the-sun celebration, we've gathered an ultimate cluster of talents who've been at the heart of our club and label's success over the years and shall keep it ticking into the next. 

Opening festivities, Moroccan producer Amine K dishes out a most speaking sample of his floor sweeping abilities with the big-room-oriented "Hecate": an infinitely cascading, hypnotically entrancing sharp-shooter primed for massive traction thru and thru. 

True to their all-embracing approach, fellow Zürich-based outfit Animal Trainer switch the focus onto Afro-informed polyrhythms, fusing soulful choirs and kalimba chords with future-ready bass moves, panpipes and poignant strings on a cinematic tip. 

Brooklyn's very own Djuma Soundsystem is next with the hauntingly deep "Kazika", featuring the multi-talented Marc Grebber - a slice of pure shadow-clad hoodooism tinged with polyphonic onslaughts and shamanic incantations for good measure. 

For his part, Stil vor Talent head honcho Oliver Koletzki graces us with the heart-breaking "Same Old Loop Shit", a delicate hybrid of luminescent synthwaves and hip-hop-laced house better tasted at sunset time on the rooftop, with a fresh cocktail in hand and your loved one by your side. 

Punching in with the further low-key and intimate "Survival", Mexico's one and only Robbie Akbal takes us for an exquisitely lush and vivid ride across sensual electronic scapes, fleshing it out with hints of Latin, folk-indebted guitars and tropes. 

Back to a gung-ho kind of mindset, Seth Schwarz tops this final leg with the brutally jagged "Marco Polo", a straight-out tonking piece of electro-shocking bass music, tailored to knock askew every raver in its wake.

The title track commences with subtly rousing drums, gradually building up a melancholic groove, perched on a backdrop of warm pads and spiralling synths.

Another set of oriental-inspired percussion comes to life in Zed, a lengthy journey of winding pads and shimmery riffs. The wailing vocal makes for a distinctive sound bite, while blending in deftly with the aid of a dramatic lead merged in ethereal throbs.

Mosaic brings forth another apt fusion of electronic and otherworldly elements. The symbiosis between the two remains linear, with incidental swings to each side of the realm, proving the artists’ ability to steer through divergent moods and combine them into a unitary, curious composition.

With the title Kasra, a name signifying ‘king’ or ‘ruler’ in the Persian language, Sam gives a nod to his Egyptian influences, whose sonorous traits can easily be picked up on all of the three original tracks included.

The centrepiece of the release, Kasra, unfolds as a dynamic composition ridden with sonic glints, whether it’s sudden vocal chops or exotic instrument reverberations. The tribal-infused vocals give it a luscious gloss, while the uplifting synth lead pushes the tension to the breaking point.

Following in the same sensuous vein, but taking off on its own terms, Senorita grips onto a main vocal lead, whose soft howls add a nostalgic dimension to its buzzing synth backbone.

Dystopia goes beyond a sonic exploration and summons an entire realm with its integral dreamy esthetic. Rolling out nimble percussion and hazy synths, it’s an overall euphoria-inducing track filled with catchy piano loops.

Atish is responsible for the Kasra remix, providing an upbeat and more functional alternative to the original. The initial tribal vocal loop is subdued and minimized, while theatrical synths take the spotlight, ensuring a release finale on a compelling note.

Die besagte Virtuosität äußert sich in den verschlungenen Melodien der Dame – und die Verwegenheit darin, wie sie diese Melodien im Takt des turbogeladenen Bassantriebs genüsslich eskalieren lässt. Auch in ihren Vocal-Parts spiegelt sich auf fraktalhafte Weise diese reflektierte Form der Wildheit wieder. Der Remix von Mollono.Bass öffnet viel Raum für die Atmosphäre und geht darin nach vorne, Arutani schifft uns mit ordentlich Tiefgang in den unteren BPM Bereich.

Bonfante takes the dancefloor apart with virtuous audacity. The virtuosity part finds expression in the intricate melodies of this lady - whereas the audacity looms in the way she straps these melodies to the supercharged rhythm sections, creating a vortex of elevating escalation. Her emotive vocals reflect this passionate form of sophistication like the shimmering details of a fractal pattern. The uplifting remix of Mollono.Bass opens a huge audio space for the atmosphere, and the intoxicating deepness of Arutani gets us going at the lower end of the BPM spectrum.
