Daze Prism returns to BRØKEN with 'Why EP,' a record that is as much deep and otherworldly as it is a dance floor smasher. 'Why' lures you in with seductive female vocals and then full on sends it with growling reese bass and smacking beats. Similarly on the flipside, 'Dusk' first throws us far into futurist space but then jolts you back into an aggressive drop with buzzing bass. Rounding out the EP is a raucous bassline remix from Chicago native CLB and a proper UK Bass take from Mike D-Fekt.

Brand new DJ & Producer by the name of Sour Taste releases his debut self released single entitled 'Falling'.

Evil 8-bit style synth stabs supported by a ryhthmic 4x4 drum pattern get things started before the beat is switched for a boomy 808 and airy vocals. The energy begins to build before climaxing with a ripping bass wobble that tears straight through your soul accompanied by an array of bouncy stabs and interesting fillers. Things only get better in the second drop as well as a high pitched sliding synth dances over a huge grizzly growl!

Wang return with a four-track bass house EP sure to shake rafters of raves worldwide. Offloading a handful of the scene’s hottest producers, including non-other than Dread MC, each tune sits in a similar vein but manage to create their own forward-thinking rave bounce. 

Leading us in, the mighty Tenshu and Dread team up for ‘Storyteller’, a riveting and house-y, driving beat and bassline under a loose hail of sci-fi gunfire. And that second drop - hefty. Then the breaks-infused introduction of NuBass and Deppz’s ‘Jenga’ sets an eerie tone at first, leaving the dancefloor lost until the clever drop moves the vibe into a completely new area of high-energy squelch and bleeps, while ‘Brute Force’ by Inkline forms itself as precisely what it claims to be; one textured explosion taking no prisoners. When it comes to legendary labels, there aren’t many that have stood the test of time as much as the legendary Circus, a project birthed by Flux Pavilion during the height of dubstep’s UK empire, boasting arguably one of the most popular catalogues of any UK imprint at that time specifically. 

Despite the wane in popularity of the more tear out dubstep sounds that Circus was so closely associated with, the label has remained extremely active, branching out from just 140 music specifically and now looking towards a new breed of bass music producers to carry them forward into this new era.

For this latest drop they introduce the combined sounds of both Dr Meaker and the wonderful Lorna King for a sumptuous original creation entitled ‘You & I’, however, we are here specifically to discuss a particular remix that has managed to find its way onto the project. Enter: Hot Goods.

The Brighton based producer has been kicking up quite the storm of late, with heavyweight releases recovering super positive reactions on the likes of Bingo Bass, Punks and more. This offering shows us all exactly what he is about as he gets to work on rethinking an already fantastic original design.

He reworks one of the vocal lines into a euphoric repeating pattern as we speed toward a breakdown, which we hit with the force of a tsunami as waves of crunchy bass grooves come into the picture, taking a Matrix type feel. When this is combined with minimalist yet punchy drum arrangements and some seriously weighty bass arrangements, we sure are in for one hell of a treat.

As we shuffle towards the end of 2019, we are now starting to see different labels and artists put together their yearly round up pieces and final drops before we move into what is set to be a dazzling 2020. It's been an amazing year for bass music as a whole, with numerous UK artists being flown out around the world to perform on some of the biggest global stages, as well as some of the strongest releases we have ever seen come out of the UK in general. 

We have also very much enjoyed the rise of a number of newer label projects, as we are firm believers that the arising of new projects keeps the big boys on their toes and also constantly injects new energies into a scene which if left unchecked, does have the potential to become a big stagnant. One of the labels we have loved to watch the progression of is Low Freqs, who have constantly supplied the bass scene with some incredible music over the course of the year, and they are back to finish up the year in style. 

Following on from three very popular previous editions, we are very happy to announce our involvement with the fourth compilation in the 'We Are Low Freqs' release series, as the team compile an absolutely storming line up as the perfect way to leave their final stamp on 2019 as a whole. They have assembled quite the roster for this one as they invite the sounds of Candl, Mike DFekt, Greed, Melay, TVU and a host of others to get involved in what truly is a top notch body of work.

Because of this we couldn't resist getting involved with an exclusive 3000 Blog premiere as we provide the official upload for Bean's contribution to the project, entitled 'Everytime'. As an overall composition, this one boasts everything, from the smooth, shimmering introdutory synthesisers and catchy vocal lines to the well thought, crispy bass tones and unpredictable arrangements of the breakdown. It's a tidy piece of work, and most certainly a highlight point of what is an overall fabulous release.
