OS Premiere: Pluralist - Vases [Pressure Dome]

With a glimmer of optimism on the horizon, we’re delighted to announce our second V/A compilation Psycho/Soma - the first of many exciting releases for 2021.

12 tracks to move body & mind, spanning a full spectrum of UK club music - from introspective, tripped-out rollers to intense percussive workouts and frantic 160(ish) action.

To accompany the release, we’re creating our first ever run of limited edition, long-sleeve, 100% organic cotton, peta-approved t-shirts, designed by UK-based independent graphic artist Alex Vissaridis.

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we released our first compilation ‘Remote Access’, which has so far raised over £1000 for the Trussell Trust. We’d like to continue to use these V/As to support causes we’re passionate about, so a portion of the label’s profits for this release will be split between three prominent mental health charities who we feel are doing important work in the UK - Mind, YoungMinds & Black Minds Matter.

In celebration of the release of INTRP005 from Manchester based producer Dulha, Interpolate recruit leftfield bass and techno champion Pluralist to fashion Dulha's 'Lotus' into a bewitching UK Techno delight.

Dulha is a Manchester based producer with a respect for dance music of all kinds, striving to create music with intricacy and rawness. He takes influence from an array of styles, ranging from UK variants such as Grime and Jungle to other genres such as Electro, Ambient and Soundtrack.

In April 2021, Dulha's debut EP 'C-Life / Lotus' was released on Interpolate Records. With more recent additions to his catalogue, Dulha contributed a half time groover packed with plenty of weighty bass to the Daytimers collectives second charity compilation in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India.

Pluralist (Will Bowen) is an up-and-coming, Birmingham/Bristol based DJ, originally hailing from Cheltenham. His most recent release, ‘Gallak’, was picked up by Circular Jaw, gaining support from artists like Hypho, Doctor Jeep & Madam X.

He also runs Module 8, a new party in Bristol, focusing on broken, stompy techno. His next release, “Different Sides’, is coming out this October with Chequered Wax. The idea behind this 4 track EP is music that fits both the club and sit down listening.

It’s time to make a return to our beloved 3000 Bass platform for the first drop of the year, after taking a couple of well needed weeks away. We have, however, decided to kick things off in 2024 with one of our most lively drops to date, welcoming the combined flavours of both Fantom Freq & Frivolous Jackson inside for a vibrant collaboration, sure to leave speaker boxes quaking.

With the title ‘Focus’, this one most certainly packs a punch and puts us into a war-ready mindset, with a sizzling fusion of sweeping synthetics, gnarly bass growls and hard hitting drum doubles, it’s safe to say that all the right notes are being checked. As far as first releases of the year go we couldn’t be happier and we can’t wait see this one tearing down dance floors nationwide.

As always here at threethousand.co.uk, we are doing our upmost best to keep ahead of the curve when it comes to new school dance music across the board. The UK is an absolute hotbed for new sounds right, given that the majority of producers are locked inside with naught to do but build sounds as a creative outlet. From this we are seeing some incredible new creations make their way to the forefront of the scene, with the creativity dial seemingly set to an all time high, giving us somewhat of a positive to take away from this unusual and testing time. 

On the subject of creativity and new sounds, we need look no further than Manchester's own Manuka records for today's upload, as Hypho's extremely exciting imprint unleashes a top quality new selection from a tidy producer by the name of Kahter. The project is a perfect embodiment of the Manuka sound from the off, full of dark, dingy themes and dungeon ready bass designs, fusing the lines immaculately between newschool dubstep flavours and experimental techno juices. 

The title track 'Eostrix' is an unpredictable blippy thrill ride, jam packed with exploitative percussive textures and intricate rhythmic switches, destined to stun a raver into a wonky 2-step. This comes alongside a mouth-watering recreation from Pluralist, who takes the techy flavours up a notch with his squelching overhaul. Next up, we dive into the swaying sauce of 'Metanoia', a vibrant, pulsating roller, packed with sizzling sub bass designs and glorious atmospheric pressure. Finally, main man Hypho steps up for the final offering with his enigmatic, bass heavy flip around of 'Metanoia', adding a final dash of spice to this top quality selection.
