Once again here on 3000 Bass, we have an absolute show stopper of a project to explore with you all, as we welcome back Rhiannon Roze to oversee a tasty 8 track remix collection, inviting some of the brightest producers in the land to rework the super weighty ‘My Friend’.

We open with the bubbling bass tones of Duckworthsounds’ meaty overhaul, followed by both the emotive undertones of стил, and the mind-melting neuro over-vamps of MÆDM’s version in hot pursuit. Next up, Fantom Freq delivers a classic bass house rework, with the techy synth shifts of Eric Mark and low-ended bass drones of PHANTASM to follow.

We then close off the project with a final pair of peaches, with the high intensity bass bounces and spacious percussion of Little Tools giving the final rework a vibrant feel, before closing project out with the now-classic themes Rhiannon’s original, closing out this epic selection in style. There is certainly something for everyone in the remix package.

It’s always a thrill to make a return with something exciting and fresh, as we continue to do all we can to move the needle farther and wider across the UK bass and garage spectrum. This latest offering from GECHA is a fantastic example of innovation and originality that we can’t wait to share with all of you.

Taking the title ‘Knee Deep’, we find ourselves engulfed with a sumptuous combination of euphoria and grit, as spacey arpeggios take over the top end of the arrangement, matched by bubbling bass subs and charming vocals across the mid and low ends. The Mirage - is a mirror held up to modern illusion, a 2-step sermon about how easy it is to mistake the shimmer for salvation. Over a warm, shuffling groove and deep, wobbling bass, the track tells the story of a world dying of thirst yet drinking lies to feel full.

The male vocal moves like a prophet lost in the crowd, speaking in fragments of poetry and truth. Each verse paints the mirage: screens that promise purpose, voices that sell comfort, faith that feels sweet but poisons slow. Beneath it all, the 2-step rhythm keeps pulsing like a heartbeat in the sand, the sound of people still moving even as the truth slips away.

The female vocal hook brings the ache and the warning. Her voice turns the desert into melody, singing for the lost who follow false light. “They drink the mirage, toast to the lie,” she repeats, part lament, part trance.

By the end, the beat fades like heat on asphalt, leaving only a whisper: the thirst is still there. “The Mirage” isn’t about the desert outside; it’s about the one we build within, a world where deception feels easier than truth, and the dance goes on while the wells run dry.
